Though the weather was inclement (rainy and cold) the Young staff were very warm and friendly and I especially loved the food in the Restaurant (as usual) I have never had a bad meal there yet - first class Family oriented atmosphere and very friendly to little children and this is to be commended.

Short family summer getaway
Great location right on the river close to park and it was great to be able to the hotel/pub for great meals. Definitely would stay again

Great service, nice room, beautiful town. Wifi did not work in my room, but staff gave me wifi code so I could work on laptop at restaurant. Hopefully wifi will be sorted before my next visit as I would definitely stay again!

Enjoyable Holiday
Staff were very welcoming and helpful with any requests. Nothing was a trouble to them.. Meals were excellent - but too much food for us as we are elderly. Dining room setting is spacious with views of river. Would stay there again;

This was our 2nd stay at Blue Waters in Orford. The staff were very welcoming. We Dined in at the restaurant, the meals were awesome.

Our room was great, newly refurbished, really clean, lots of room, great comfy couch and good pillows on the bed. We had a lovely little deck overlooking the bay. A great place to stay in to see Orford.

Recently renovated, excellent value motel
Orford Blue Waters is excellent value accommodation. It is a traditional small motel with relatively few rooms of different formats aiming to appeal to several types of budget conscious traveller. Our room had been renovated very recently. It was simply decorated but with everything one needs for a comfortable stay including a sofa,fridge,free standing table and sufficient cutlery to enable breakfast to be taken in your room. It was also very clean. The deck with a table and chairs was an added bonus. There is an attached pub which does very good pub style food but it does get very busy at weekends. Indeed my only criticism would be that whilst there is plenty of Parking locals going to the pub park outside the rooms rather than walk the few extra yards. If you go to bed early the sound of satisfied customers returning to their cars and conversing outside your bedroom window could disturb you. We sleep later so it was not a problem for us. We would stay there again.

The room was newly renovated and tasteful. However, the hallway entrance was very old and shabby. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional.

From the outside the unit looked very ordinary but inside was clean, larger than expected, other than the very small shower recess, and quite modern with a comfortable bed.

Don’t let the outside fool you! The rooms are “like new”. The little kitchenette has a frig and kettle with amenities like coffee etc and cutlery. Even though we were only here for one night we enjoyed our stay. The pizza and beer in the bar was great too! We were too late arriving to take advantage of their restaurant.

Disappointing
The first night was fine. We dined in the restaurant which was very good. However on the second night, we were assailed by a plague of flying insects. The staff who have been responsive up until this incident, were indifferent to the situation which I find disappointing. My wife extracted some fly spray after quite some effort the use of which gave her a massive coughing attack plus I experienced some breathing difficulties due to being an asthmatic. Given the price we paid, I expect a refund on last night’s accommodation.

The accommodation was as advertised and for the price was good, the room has been recently refurbished, only criticism is the bed was like a rock and parking is an issue especially if the pub is busy cars are parked right outside your window and wake you up when they are leaving this parking should be accommodation parking only. We ate in the restaurant one evening the wait was well over an hour for the food and no changes allowed with meals if it comes with mash & greens and you want chips you have to order chips separately but when it did arrive the food was ok.

We love this hotel and didn’t realise that complimentary penguin viewing occurs every night. Food at the restaurant was top class and the beach is beautiful. Highly recommended.

Room was to far away from WiFi to get a strong enough signal to connect. Restaurant closed early and there weren’t a lot of places around to eat. The shower was small. The room was a nice size.
