"It was a good hotel for a stopover with the airport shuttle service. The room was a little tired looking and the hallway carpet could do with a good clean, which would improve the appearance of the hotel. Friendly receptionist and bar food was fine."
"Overall a fantastic hotel. Great breakfast. Pool was amazing with a good amount of sunbeds. It got very busy on the weekend compared to the weekdays. We felt that given the heatwave when we stayed they should have given us bottled water everyday not just randomly on 2 days as they appeared to do. Also there were a lot of corporate events on during the weekdays. The pool bar is very, very expensive. There is a supermarket bearby that is about 8 min walk but they lock you out of the minibar and you have to request access - so you can’t easily chill drinks. Also they add 5% service charge for your stay and they tell you this at checkout. They do say it’s optional but you feel obliged to pay it. Along with city taxes this can add a significant amount to your bill so be aware!"
"If I could give Villa Crespi 20 stars, I would! 🌟
We have stayed at many beautiful hotels, but Villa Crespi has completely redefined hospitality for us. We left feeling genuinely cared for—and perhaps a little spoiled for every hotel that comes after!
From arrival, every detail was effortless. We were welcomed with cold water, the staff arranged our anniversary dinner, drove us there, escorted us inside to explain that we were their guests and mention my dietary restrictions, then returned to pick us up.
The next morning, the staff surprised me with freshly prepared gluten-free breads, cream-filled croissants and chocolate torte. Knowing we had a boat trip planned, they created an extraordinary picnic for us: beautifully prepared sandwiches, snacks, chilled sparkling water, champagne on ice with glasses, fresh towels, and even tea-tree-infused refreshing towels for after swimming. They drove us to and from the boat as well.
Our room was magnificent, with an extraordinary view, a comfortable bed and every amenity imaginable. Even our departure was thoughtful: cold waters waiting inside of the car, and we were given gifts from their kitchen to take home.
This is what true 5 star hospitality means: not just luxury, but anticipating a guest’s needs before they ask. We were so moved by the warmth and thoughtfulness of the entire staff that that I left handwritten thank-you notes—something I have never done before.
This was more than a hotel stay- it was an experience. 🌟"
"An exceptional hotel. We had a very spacious room with a balcony and an amazing view. The breakfast choices endless and yummy. The hotel is on top of a hill and away from downtown. If arriving by train, you will need to take a taxi (only 13-14 Euros). The hotel has a complimentary van to and from downtown twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon, you just need to have them add you to their list. Gorgeous gardens and hotel grounds are picturesque, with a nice cocktail bar and a very pleasant outdoor restaurant. The dinner menu not too extensive, however some very unique items and everything was delicious. The staff is superb, both at the front desk and in the restaurant - very professional, super respectful and going above and beyond to meet any request. Our son was there for a couple of days with a large group of students. Varese was their final city in a 1-month class abroad. My husband and I arrived separately and stayed at the same hotel. Since our son's birthday was the day after, we ordered some cakes for his whole group from a local baker the last night of the visit. The baker was running so late, we did not know if she would show up at all - and we had a whole bunch of students waiting. It was already a few minutes after the restaurant's closing time, but the assistant manager took my sudden order for 25 desserts and had them served within 10 minutes. Literally saved the evening and my son's friends said the desserts were the best they've had in Italy all month."
