Absolute peace!! It is my second stay at the lazy fish and after traveling all over the globe—it’s the peaceful view and quiet time with the beach right out the front door cabin that I want to return to!!! Crazy to say but this little place takes first for simplicity and rest!!
Love the cabin. It had everything we needed to stay there just had to bring our groceries. Love the sunrise and the beach. Can’t wait to go again this summer with my grandkids. Thanks so much for a wonderful getaway.
I love The Lazy Fish! The cabins are well set up and the view is perfect! There's a beach firepit for chilly nights, and plenty of beach chairs for enjoying the sun. Tim and Nancy are super easy to communicate with. This was my 2nd stay, and it will be my annual Oscoda destination.
Was very hot our stay, but the breeze being right on the water made it perfect. Our lab had so much fun swimming. Beautiful sandy beach. Clean, cute and perfect for the 3 of us. We will be back.
I enjoyed a peaceful weekend at The Lazy Fish, a quaint studio right on the water. The cabin was perfect for a solo traveler and my dog. The owner was welcoming and easily reachable, adding to the comfort of my stay. The private grill and shared firepit were great for enjoying the outdoors. There was plenty to explore in and around town. Ideal for anyone seeking a simple lakeside escape.
This is my third year in a row staying in the same same cabin number 5, it was me and my son and my dog. I always enjoy staying there. I love the beach and number five cabin perfect size for us. We will definitely be back next year. I don’t ever wanna leave when it’s time to go.
The owners are very friendly and our in the process of fixing up the cabins. The cabins are older, but nice. The View of the water is breath taking. You can't any closer to the water from your cabin. We had our dog Angel she loved it. We will be back
My family really loved the view, the beach and the firepit. Plus, we were able to take our furbabies. Location was beautiful and easy to get to the pier and hiking trails. We booked 3 cabins so it worked out well for our family. Just one point, the cleaning person should put out fresh mats in the bathroom and do a quick mop. I know the sand is inevitable and hard to keep out but that would have been a plus. We would go back!!
We began our trip with a hiccup, but the owners were able to quickly solve the issue. All communication with the owners was very easy and quick. The cabin was how described and was clean and stocked with most needed items including towels, tp, paper towel, towels for kitchen, and some basic kitchen items. Having a couple more cooking items (pots and pans) would be a helpful addition. It was great to have a place that was family and pet friendly. The beach access was a huge plus for this property.
Nice cabin. Little inconvenience from passive smoking
We love this place and this was our second time staying in lazy fish resort. Tim and Nancy are very nice and welcoming. Quick to reply to messages. We had to endure one inconvenience during this trip. Although smoking is not allowed in the cabin, we had neighbors on both sides who would smoke a lot on the deck and we had to endure that smell in our cabin as we had the windows open to keep cabin cool. Thankfully we checked out the next morning so didn't have to reach out to the hosts to address the situation
I was shocked that there was no air conditioning, and knew ahead of time it was dog friendly. Both of those issues turned out ok. We did buy another fan. I do feel this needs to be in the description for those that need a respite from the heat. I also think it is wonderful for those that want to take their pets. I will probably choose a non-pet place next time which I am sure is much more expensive. I am glad there are places like this for all families if they choose, on a lower budget, and the beach and pets. In that, it was overall wonderful.
Opens up to the gorgeous beach! The cabin was very, very clean although nothing fancy. The outside looks pretty rough and the windows need to be replaced badly. But the space itself was well kept otherwise. Kitchenette was just what was needed, towels and linens were clean, cozy, and well stocked. Absolutely perfect for our dogs to be able to enjoy the beach with us. I would think of it almost as "glamping" right on the beach. Shower was great, nice water pressure and stayed hot! The kayaks were fun to play around with, and the deck is a nice size. Although the cabins are connected we didn't hear our neighbors and never felt crowded. The beach is "all yours" which definitely beats trying to squeeze onto a public beach. My dogs are going to sleep for days to hry had so much fun running around and swimming!
The first 2 nites were wonderful, everyone adored our dogs.
They played with a puppy on the beach.
The girls down from us, wanted to babysit the dogs. We enjoyed a bonfire, with the neighbor next to us.
The 3rd day a family came into a cabin next to us.
He decided he didnt want anything to do with my dogs.
By 7pm that nite he called the owner.
Then the owner called me during supper.
I didnt have Thor on a leash. My bad.
I was basically no longer welcome.
I text the owner told him i would be gone In The morning. I wanted my money back for the nite and day i wasn't there.
He said ok and thank you.
I never recevied my money.
This is our second time coming here with our family and dogs, and we absolutely love it. The cabins are nice and the direct access to the beach with miles of sandy shores can’t be beat. We will definitely be back
Miami Beach Resort was clean, relaxing and equipped with every ammenity needed for an enjoyable stay! Our host, Nancy was in communication and available if needed. Will definitely stay there again when in the area.
Was an amazing view and stay. Property owners are so polite and even checked up on us. I plan on taking my whole family back here!! Sunrises are breath taking!!
This spot is great for a long weekend getaway if you’re looking to enjoy a Michigan beach. It’s right on the water with great views and kayak access. Quiet area but still close enough for a short drive to little towns if you want to go out to eat or walk around. Hosts were very friendly!
My husband and I stayed here before and came back because we enjoyed it so much. We love waking up in the morning and looking out at the water while having our coffee. It doesn’t get any better than this. Tim and Nancy are great.
