"The hotel is brand new and in pristine condition, but there were some notable operational quirks. It doesn’t seem like management is able to decide whether this is a luxury property or a select service hotel - even though there were two reception desks staffed at all times, the staff were actively pushing customers to use the three self-service kiosks for all operations (check-in, breakfast coupons, check-out) and actually doing the work for them on those machines. Not sure what the point of that was or whether it should be the case in a luxury property. Similarly, the public bath in the basement is pretty underwhelming, if pristine. All that said, the rooms were spotless, staff were very helpful and spoke English impeccably, and breakfast was great both in terms of food selection and quality."

"A relaxing and serene hotel in a beautiful setting! The private baths were fantastic. The restaurant had little private dining rooms. Don’t forget to take a walk down to the river and over the bridge to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. So happy I booked this place - an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Kyoto!"
