Relaxing foresty environment
Lots of windows for the view. Amenities were good for us two - HVAC, shower, tub, kitchen, etc. nicely private with great views from the deck and areas to walk in a woodsy environment. Saw a couple of deer several times

Great place
We stayed 3 nights. Place was well stocked with what you would need to cook with. The property is beautiful, saw deer in the morning and if you are a birdwatcher there are plenty of birds including woodpeckers and Eastern bluebirds. Beds are comfortable and the ceiling to floor windows are great. We enjoyed the sunsets and peacefulness. You will need to make any stops for food before you get there it is remote and cel reception isnt great, but thats a good thing if you are looking for remote and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again.

Critters in the walls
Ok, so just being honest here, they have a critter problem. Every night we could hear animals enter from the roof of the house and come down into the walls. They played for most of the night running back and forth. It was Very noisy and kept us awake for most of the night. There were also mouse droppings inside the house along the baseboards in the kitchen. We made sure to keep food and such tucked away at night and while we were away. The house is interesting and held up by stacks of big rocks. We would love to know the history on the house. The house in general was clean...I gave it 3 stars because of the mouse poop, windows could be cleaned and cobwebs dusted off the wood beams. A little outdated. Beds were kinda on a slant and the one close to the stairs was like sleeping in a hammock. However...The views were amazing- Loved the privacy, sunrises, blooming redbuds, wildlife, and rolling hills. (Something that could be added to the house rules and regulations should be what to do with garbage. There was no designated place to put full garbage bags)

Ark and Creation Museum Trip
Cabin setting was so peaceful and felt like you were sleeping in a treehouse. We loved it, but just needed more time to sit and be still. We would definitely stay there again. We had no cell reception in Owenton and that complicated us getting to the cabin at first, but overall it was a great trip.

Our stay was great. Quiet and very scenic. It was like being in a tree house. Only thing I would have liked to have internet access. You can't get any internet even though you could make a call from your cell phone.

Relaxing weekend
We needed a quiet weekend away and this was the perfect location! Tucked away in the woods, surrounded by nature. We watched the fireflies and enjoyed the quiet. We didn’t see another person the entire stay. Definitely on the recommendation list

Hidden Gem
This little hidden gem was perfect for our long weekend! Well stocked, pictures represent perfectly! It is out in the middle of nowhere, so do stop in a town to pick up supplies before you get there. We visited the Ark encounter and then hiked the next day at a nearby state park. Gerrold was a real sweetheart and saved the day when we lost the key! I highly highly recommend it if you are looking for an out of the way, private wooded area to stay!
