Idyllic,tranquil with beautiful grounds and walks. A thoroughly restful stay. Highly recommend if you want to get into the slow lane.

The best hotel of our trip from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth! The room was very spacious and well maintained. The view from the rooms are spectacular, overlooking another wine estate, as well as the mountains around the hotel. Breakfast was nice. The location was also really good, close to several great restaurants in the region. Very romantic experience! They even gave us a free coupon for a wine tasting close to the hotel, which we really enjoyed.

Rooms we were booked in were quite spacious. WiFi was superb. Breakfast very good. Lunch also good.

Staff and hotel was excellent. Very relaxing environment, sorry I didn't spend longer there.staff went above and beyond what would be expected. I would highly recommend it.

We got a great deal with Black Saturday sales. Very comfortable room with everything in good condition. Extremely happy with our stay. Views from property and breakfast area are wonderful.

We stayed in Southern Sun de Wagen in March 22 and came back to this property for a reason. Its excellent. Thank you to Mellissa for warm welcome. This time we stayed in Luxury room which was situated outside of the courtyard as all the courtyard rooms were booked at the time i was making the booking. I have to say go for the courtyard room if you planning to stay. Luxury room is same as the others but you pay extra €40-€50 per night for having small fireplace in the room and a bath as well as...

I stayed for four nights recently and found the hotel and staff excellent, while the room was comfortable and the view spectacular. I recommend the Protea Hotel unhesitatingly to anybody looking for a good hotel in Stellenbosch.
