This is a perfect spot right on the beach and close to Pelican Brewery and other places to eat and drink. The decks are very nice. The sounds of the ocean was the perfect ambience.

Nice beach house
Lovely cottage. As other have mentioned, stairs and some maneuvering for tall people is required. Comfortable beds. Incredibly beautiful views from patio, terrace and bedroom upstairs. The beach is actually down a very steep dune that even for a relatively fit person is a bit of a workout (but worth it). The houses next door are quite close. The property manager wasn’t the most pleasant—not very friendly to begin with and then at 11:06a (check out is 11am) we had already locked up the house (after cleaning it up very nicely mind you—vacuuming even) and were in the driveway closing the trunk and she drove by and hassled us about check out being at 11am. Unnecessary and kind of soured the whole experience. Nevertheless the property is very nice.

Lovely time in this comfortable cottage, with amazing views and ample decks. Basic kitchen amenities....bring your own salt, pepper, sugar, spices. Check with owner rep on heat before you get there.

Great stay!
Owner/host was great in communicating and accommodating! My family had an amazing time during our stay. The beach access was great for quick walk down during low tide for sea shell hunting; a little steep but manageable (fun to run down if you don’t have a bad knee or hip). There is a less steep access not too far up the road. Because we had an almost two year old child with us, we thought the stairs would be a bit of a challenge but she managed just fine. I would recommend a baby gate or two to truly market this property as an all-around family friendly unit. And perhaps investing in Pack N Play for sleepy infants/toddlers. We would love to stay again in the future!

Rustic Cabin with direct access to the beach
The place is nice and the location is great. We loved Pacific City. The rooms and beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our time there. Only suggestion I would make for the place is that the Stove and Microwave need to be replaced. Oven doesnt show the temperature so if you plan to use the oven you have no idea what the temperature is. Overall a nice place.

Great communication from booking through check out. The house is just right for a relaxing stay. The sound of the ocean along with the deer walking through on a regular basis was a big hit with the group. If the beach access at the property was a little easier to navigate, it would have been perfect.

Lovely time, great property but not super accessible
The house was great and had everything we needed. But we could not tell from the pictures how many stairs it had or how difficult it was to get to the beach. There are stairs to the kitchen from the living room, stairs down to two of rooms and bathroom, and stairs to the upstairs bathroom and bedroom. Also it has a beautiful view but a bit of a cliff to get down to the actual beach. You could climb it but it was not easy at all. Again the house was well kept and I have no complaints but it did not work for everyone in our group. Just be aware that it is not accessable for everyone. If stairs are not a problem for you, then I would say it's a great place to rent.

Family getaway
We had a really nice family (8+2 dogs) getaway time stay at this cute rustic beach get away. The house is decorated so cute and couches and beds were nice and comfy. The only problems we encountered was that none of the outside lights were working and all of the outside furniture was rusted or cracked, which was a bummer. Other then that it was a nice get away. Would be great if they could update the outdoor furniture. Would likely stay again and recommend.

Great location!
This was a great place to stay and we will definitely be booking here again! The way to get to the beach is a little steep but doable. I used our dogs metal corkscrew leash holder and put it in the sand with a long rope and that made it easier to get up to the top. We also brought some of our snow sleds and had fun riding down the sand. Thanks for renting out such a great place!

Sweet little house. Gorgeous views. It was storming most of our visit, but we all enjoyed the cozy house, and watched the waves. The kitchen had everything we needed for family meals. It does have a lot of stairs, 3 level house that guests should be aware of. Our elderly little dog needed help, otherwise perfect weekend with friends.

Overall great place with amazing access as to the beach.
We really liked the place and enjoyed our stay. The only issues we had or more accurately we didn’t expect was the upstairs bathroom only had a tub and the kitchen appliances, specifically the stove, are in need of replacement. We also found some mold in the upstairs bedroom.

We stayed here three years ago and it was a better experience than this last time. The place has not been kept up very well. The fireplace didn't work...very disappointing. Overall the place was not very clean. Dirty dishes and dirty coffee grinder. Multiple plastic bowls/pitcher had holes in the bottom and were unusable. Not worth the price.

Plenty of room for three couples, great ocean views from deck, living room, upstairs bedroom. Functional kitchen, adequate amenities. Poor internet but we're at the beach after all. Could use better space for hanging and storing clothing. Spectacular location overrides the limitations.

Funky A-frame; excellent beach
We really enjoyed our stay here. The A-frame house is a little funky in several respects, but it served all our needs well enough. Most of the sleeping arrangements are downstairs, away from the beach side of the house. The beach-facing bedroom is up top, with a full-size bed, and there's a pull-out bed in a little closet up there. Bathing upstairs is a bit tricky with the curtainless sit-bath, but possible. Three adults and four kids all had a great time while there.

This is the first beach house we ever stayed at in Pacific City over 40 years ago. So this stay was a nostalgic step back in time. But, you need to know: The lower level door ( into the bedroom) was unlocked when we arrived. There is a substantial hole in the sliding door screen door that needs to be fixed. There was frozen meat left in the freezer by previous renters and a sock laying out on the deck. I would suggest you remove the old worn out Adirondack chairs on the kitchen deck, not a good first impression to see them and know that slivers would happen if you did use them. The outlet in the upstairs master room does NOT work, by the door. And the light on the wall in that same room has a broken end light bulb parts in it so it doesn't work. The downstairs bathroom door was really hard to open and shut, needs to be adjusted. The horrible sound each time was really loud and disturbing and could be heard throughout the whole house when used. The king bedroom downstairs, windows don't open for air flow. It would be helpful if they did. I suggest you put a screen on the kitchen window for air flow as well as a screen door off the kitchen-also for air flow. The stove/oven light for temperature was very hard to read the numbers and the microwave timer does NOT work: it starts and then after a few seconds stops. The front deck steps were OK, but the last step down was really deep and several of us nearly fell each time on that last one. If a another railing was put in the middle, that would be helpful to get up and down the deep step to the sand. All of us used the downstairs shower, so it would have helped if you put a wall mount shower nozzle to go with the tub upstairs and a shower curtain. The younger ones could get in and out of the tub to shower if that had a wall mount shower head, but the older ones ( like me and my husband) wouldn't be able to even climb into the tub to shower if we could. The refrigerator was missing some shelving and drawers inside, so we were limited on food storage in the frig. Maybe a new frig or at least replace the missing parts of the inside capacity would be helpful. All these mentioned points would have made the stay better. Thanks, Carla

Quirky home & wonderful location
Wonderful stay from start to finish. Ellen was friendly and efficient, and the house was clean and cheery. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking. The stove is older so the digital oven display is a little difficult to read and it cooks a bit hot, but we made it work easily. Enjoyed the board games and propane fireplace in the evenings, and the beautiful location on the dune (house is above the surf beach). Plenty of room for our group of two adults and two teens. The sunset views were amazing and it was an invigorating walk (a mile?) to the cape and big dune, Pelican Pub, etc. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful location and view
The location, views and accessibility to beach was wonderful. The house was not very clean, had tons of very steep and unsafe stairs, cobwebs throughout and very poor outdoor lighting. We arrived in the evening and I ended up tripping and falling just trying to get in the place. The owner should at least invest in new stove/oven, linens, cookware, and dishes for the price they’re charging per night. Beds were comfortable and the view was amazing but we won’t be staying here again. We’re just lucky we didn’t fall down any of the interior stairs (they’re dangerous and clearly not up to code).

The house and ocean view is as good as it looks in the pictures. What came as a surprise was the great Nestucca River view to the east from an awesome deck just outside the kitchen. It's a great place to eat outdoors! We enjoyed 4 wonderful days and would love to return in the future!

Not what we expected for the price
We have stayed in a lot of places in Pacific City and this was the first one that ever disappointed. I do not feel this place is worth what it costs. I understand beach front comes at a price but when so many other things are wrong and broken, it is not justified. We thought this was going to be a special splurge and instead it was a very regretful, EXPENSIVE trip. Would not stay here again.

Pretty Darn Good
We had a wonderful stay with our twin 2 years olds, dog, and my elderly parents. The view from the deck was amazing and the house provided just about everything we needed minus groceries. This stretch of beach is pretty quiet and low tide reveals lots of great pools for young children to play in and go shell hunting. We ended our stay not wanting to leave! Previous reviewers are not lying when they say the wifi is bad. We had to use data to stream anything from our phones and our laptops simply weren't able to download new messages to our inboxes or access the internet. So, we weren't able to do any work, but perhaps that was a blessing. There are a few other quirks to this house (bathtub water handles spin endlessly) and the stove/oven definitely needs to be updated, but we've found that this is sort of the norm with most beach houses on the Oregon Coast, at least at this price range. And truly, none of these deficiencies impeded our enjoyment of the home, location, and wonderful sunny weather. One last thing to note is that this house has a lot of stairs. If your guests are elderly - like mine - you may want to take that into consideration.

Fun little house.
Very nice, clean, self contained house with beautiful views. I really recommend this house. The listing was a little miss leading as we thought we could walk directly to the beach from the house but due to a 20 foot cliff between the house and beach my elderly father wasn’t able to access the beach like the rest of us. The house is also 4 levels instead of two, which was fine for most of us, but was a struggle for my elderly father. Other than that it was a fun, clean and welcoming environment.

Brad & I loved this property in spite of a few shortcomings & a major miss. LOVED: view &d access to beach is unparalleled despite the rustic vintage being a bit more "rustic." We would rebook this b/c: View, closeness to Pelican/town, allows a dog, surface &covid cleaning was excellent. Mattresses & pillows were high quality. Gas bbq worked & propane tank was full. Major miss & note for owners: This house could be rented 100% of the time & I would re-rent for 2wks to work from the beach in the VERY REAL remote world, but I can't. The wifi is worse than horrible. to describe it as subpar would be an understatement. This is NOT optional anymore. If this were my home I would remedy ASAP. Other small nuisances which reflect poorly on the OWNERS....broken dirty chairs on the upper level balcony. Rusted out chairs on the main patio (beach facing) Why even bother to have dirty ugly furniture? It reflects so poorly on the house overall & the owners maint. priorities. At min. please throw these away & add 5 plastic home depot Adirondack chairs & REAL WIFI and you'd have this rented 24/7 with quality renters. The stove was unreliable & had uneven surfaces + easily replaced for a small amount. Lastly, the carpet was filthy. Either reco. replace w/ Berber carpet or steam clean it. A deep clean so badly needed. The property manager (Ellen) was wonderful & did give us a heads up the WIFI was not great BUT one does expect some level of Wi-Fi. I would recommend this to all my Intel colleagues to work from the beach (a thing we are all doing) but can't b/c even if they wanted to, there is nowhere else to grab WIFI in covid. The overall surface cleaning was excellent. In the end we had a fab stay, but we can't recommend this due to the Wi-Fi & the small "bummers" are slightly inexcusable for the owners as for little $ this can so easily be remedied. Critical: 5 houses down on Sunset Drive - waterfront w/ same view, is BEAUTIFUL & rents through Kiawanda Properties for the exact same price (+ a refundable deposit) w/ beautiful amenities & GREAT Wi-Fi (we toured as coincidentally Intel colleagues/friends had rented unknown to us.) As such, I've rented that property in Jan. now for 2 wks. Again so many GREAT attributes directly related to Ellen of Sunset Rentals (communication, ease of access, and overall professionalism. All the downsides are on the OWNERS. Respectfully, Rebecca & Brad

Great Covid - Smoky Air Escape
We were so fortunate to have very clear and refreshing air as the rain came down the evening we arrived. A dory charter the next morning with Eagle Charters Fishing made for an outstanding first day in Pacific City. The fish were plentiful and our guide, Dan brought us great laughter and success as we reeled in a lot of rockfish and cod. We had blue skies, great surf, amazing meals and just an all around wonderful experience. The walk up the sand dune at Cape Kiwanda was a real heart thumper and the views up top were well worth the sweat. Location of this home is perfect. Anything that may have lacked on the outside (patio furniture, updated beach chairs) is overseen by the oceanfront views. Highly recommend this home and we hope to return.

Peace & Quiet
If you love the shabby chic charm of old beach houses, this is the place for you. This home has everything you need to be comfortable along with the BEST view around. The location is QUIET and the beach is uncrowded. Beds and pillows are comfortable (bring blankets....none extra due to COVID concerns). This is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with family. If you bring your bike, it's a short ride down to the main part of Pacific City - grab some fish tacos and watch the surfers. We can't wait to return! Thanks Ellen!
