Ain't Life Grand? - Pacific Grove House - Beach + Town

This urban oasis is a few blocks from the beach, and around the corner from one of the most charming Main Streets in America. Located in the commercial district of Pacific Grove, it’s just steps from shops, galleries, restaurants, cafes, a wine bar and a movie theater. The entry area—with a bistro table and a sofa—is set up like a storefront. The real living areas are behind the door, where you can relax on leather sofas adjoining a lovely kitchen with mocha-colored quartz countertops, stainless appliances, and a breakfast bar that seats four. The master bedroom has a private bath with a walk-in shower; the upstairs bedroom has a peek of the ocean and an en suite powder room. The laundry is in the basement at the bottom of the stairs, and all the delights of Pacific Grove are right outside your front door. You can swim, dive or kayak at Lover's Point right down the street (with a white sand beach for sunning, a kiddie pool, beach volleyball court, and a snack bar, café and restaurant). With grassy areas for picnics and surrey, bike, kayak and paddle board rentals—this park is a favorite of visitors and locals alike. Stroll down the coastal recreation trail to commune with seals and sea otters, or play golf at the ocean side Pacific Grove Golf Course, affectionately known as a budget-minded alternative to Pebble Beach. A short drive will take you to Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf, downtown Monterey or Carmel. Within minutes you can be touring scenic 17-Mile Drive, hiking to secluded Big Sur beaches,horseback riding, deep-sea fishing or whale watching. Any questions? Great location

We had a great stay at Pacific Grove. The apartment has everything you need and plenty of space for everyone. The location is great, and the beds were very comfortable. You can hear the piano music from the school next door but it didn’t concern us, it added to it. My only feedback is to also have some dish cloths and tea towels available, I couldn’t find any so when I wanted to wash the dishes instead of using the dishwasher it was difficult to dry them.

Great location!

My family stayed here for a long weekend (husband and two small children). We love Pacific Grove’s and always try to stay somewhere close to Lighthouse st. This location was perfect. The place itself was very comfortable with great amenities. My husband especially enjoyed that huge tv for football Sunday. We ate at Rodolfo’s just around the corner and were a very short drive to Monterey bay aquarium. Highly recommend

Perfect Location

We've stayed at this location several times over the years and love it. It's in the perfect location. Shops, restaurants, and supermarkets are all within walking distance. Most importantly (to us), the ocean is just down the street. We've even walked to Fisherman's Warf. The house is always extremely clean with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The rental company is extremely responsive to inquiries and a pleasure to work with. We'll keep coming back and can't wait for our next trip!

Perfect location

You can’t get any closer to the action in PG than this! Walking distance to everything you want to go see. Parking spot was nice to have. Beds were very comfortable. Ne aware the second bedroom is directly above the master and you can hear pretty much everything. Very limited supply of “stuff” in kitchen and bathrooms - but that’s just my personal opinion. I’m used to full cupboards and accces to the simple things like foil, paper towels and coffee.

Great location. Nice walks along the ocean front, easy walk to cannery row and to variety of restaurants. Easy drive to Carmel and Big Sur. The apartment was clean and comfortable, just like the pictures. Definitely recommend this location. One thing that was not good, but also not horrible was next door is a piano instruction center. From about 5 to 8pm there was someone getting lessons and you can hear the piano between the walls. If you had the TV on or music playing in the apartment you wouldn't hear it, but when silent in the apartment you definitely hear the piano. I took my 5 rating to a 4 because of the surprise piano noise.

This home was everything we needed, and more. Clean, updated and so convenient to everything in Monterrey and Carmel. A few minutes walk to Lovers Point and so close to all highways. The owners took great care in designing and caring for their home. And it shows. They even made a delightful book with all the attractions and recommendations for every kind of outing one would want. Clear and concise instructions on home maintenance and entry and exit. We highly recommend "ain't life grand" to everyone!

Wonderful place and perfect location in Pacific Grove. It comes with a parking too! It’s our 7th year of staying for 21 days. Countless restaurants, markets, and bakeries just a walk away. Lover’s Point for walking/biking just down four blocks. This is where we’ll stay again for sure!
