We arrived late afternoon and enjoyed a lovely quiet chill out and then went for a walk, fabulous views. The hotel is tucked away in a wonderful valley, and once you find it is a great base for exploring. Dinner was excellent, home cooked and delicious - best to book ahead. Mendi Alai is in a lovely valley,very peaceful and rural but at the same time only around half an hour to the Atlantic beaches and an hour to Bilbao for a visit to the Guggenheim. We were there for the European Challenge...
