The folks at the reception desk are super friendly and super helpful. The communication prior to arrival was great. We had a 2 room suite that was very comfortable. The location was central to the older part of Palermo. 2 restaurants i suggest you reserve ahead of time, Locale and Nona Dora

I rated this as 2 stars for the following reasons: Cons - Parking was terrible, there is no breezway or hotel specific reception on the street. I had to double park, go up to the 2nd floor and let reception know I had arrived. THey called their valet who came in 10 min but by that time a bus was yelling at my family to move. - I had to ask the reception to come help with bags and it took 3 trips because the elevator is slow and small. - We came back to the 2nd floor for some reason just to be told to go to the 4th floor to our room. - Room was extremely noisy all night long with people moving furniture, very loud road noise and lots of light (curtains have small slits in them). This was a problem for us mostly since we were traveling with a 20month old but my wife and I were woken up by loud music and loud horns. - The room is extremely simple with not many amenities. - We found a roach the morning we were checking out after a 2 night stay. Pros - Great for single or couples in terms of proximity to lots of sights, food, bars. - Staff was helpful and nice in our limited interaction - Travelers without a car or luggage

The staff is attentive and responsive. The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable 😊. I love the electric tea pot in the room with instant coffee for those moments when you just need a coffee or tea! Definitely returning to this one!

Alma Hotel. Great place to stay in Palermo
The conditions were simple/minimal but were wonderfully comfortable and clean, and the staff could not have been nicer. They were very helpful in all matters and flexible in adapting to our needs. I might add that the location was excellent and the breakfast was delicious. I would absolutely stay there again

My girlfriend and I stayed at Alma for 5 nights, and it was easily the best hotel within our trip. We're very happy we booked it. The hotel itself is very clean and well kept. The rooms are also clean and have plenty of space for luggage. Bathroom and showers are perfect. Breakfast is full of different options and was delicious! The location is great. It is a 5-15 minute walk to the main things you'll want to visit in Palermo (Historical center, all three markets, popular streets with food and drinks etc.). Its far enough away from these streets that the noise is not bad - we had no issues with noise at night The staff is the highlight and what makes this place so different than any other hotels. Everyone is super friendly and looking to help. We had a great intro to the city with maps/places to visit etc. and when the staff heard we would be leaving early one day (before breakfast is served) they helped pack a "to-go" breakfast to make sure we had something to eat. Special shout out to Michele (I hope I spelt his name right) and team, who organized parking for our car on the street to ensure we could leave very early in the morning with no troubles. Palermo was the highlight of our trip, and we think a great hotel helped make that happen. We would easily come back!

An absolute gem. Very nice rooms. Very good breakfast. Price was excellent for the quality of the hotel. Definitely recommend. Did ask the owner to put a prominent sign street side to make it easier to locate. It’s off a breezeway with several other hotels. Will definitely stay again.

Alma Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Palermo. It is walkable to the historic area. The staff and owners are friendly and make you feel so welcome. They are very helpful making dining reservations for you or getting drivers. Highly recommend!!

Received a welcome email the day before check-in. The room was ready when we arrived at noon. Close to all the sights and ferry port, located in a building which had couple of hotels and B&Bs. All staff were very friendly and speak fluent English, especially Mari was very helpful. She took care of us and luggage after we checkout. Room was clean and quiet, with no charge minibar with soft drinks and 4 bottles of water. The breakfast was good. The only complaint I had was that very strong bad odor of sewer/mold in bathroom.

Friendly, helpful professional staff. Abundant, tasty breakfast. We arranged transport from & back to the airport through the hotel. It was excellent especially since the airport is a distance from Palermo & we had an early morning flight to Rome. Location is central & walkable to city sites & harbor. Small hotel on third floor of larger building, tiny functional elevator, Rooms are thoughtfully designed & have useful amenities for guests’ comfort. We were very happy with our stay.

Welcoming small hotel in the heart of Palermo. Great customer service all around. We staff was thoughtful & responsive. Very good breakfast. The airport is a ways from Palermo & we used their private hotel transport service for arrival & a very early morning departure. The drivers were excellent! The hotel has rooms on the 3rd floor, small elevator.

3rd 4th and 6th floor hotel based in a 1960 office/htel block. Modern and lovely staff. Small lift and stairs for access. Rooms and bathrooms were nice and had everything you need inc good shower. Great location and 20 min walk from central station

Don’t be put off by the exterior appearance. Inside, there is a gem. All the staff are lovely and couldn’t do enough to make our stay in Palermo a great experience, from booking a taxi to locating a barber shop. Breakfast was exactly right - the best coffee & a great variety of foods. If I’m ever back in Palermo, I would stay here again

OUTSTANDING! The staff at Alma Hotel are amazing. I travel a lot yet I have never met a kinder, friendlier, or more professional group of people. I let them know my estimated time of arrival and check-in was a breeze. They greeted me by name and in less than five minutes we were headed to room no. 10. What a lovely space! It's a very spacious suite of rooms with a large balcony. The street is very noisy but one can barely hear a sound once the sliding doors are closed. To make sure, they provide earplugs on the nightstand. The TV is a generous 60" or so, but we hardly used it. The cupboards were stocked with dishes and pans, and the full-sized fridge held comp bevs. B'fast was satisfying and beautifully presented by the ladies I dubbed The Breakfast Crew (M.Agata, Federica, and Greta). They are lovely and attentive. My daughter arrived with a bad cold and they asked about her condition. So sweet. The front desk staff is equally amazing (Noemi, Sharon, and Michele). We checked out for a few days to visit Catania and Agrigento and the Alma stored our luggage. Upon our return, we were welcomed like old friends and Michele just handed us the keys to the same room where our luggage had already been delivered! We were so tired that their thoughfulness was most appreciated. A big shout-out to Liliana and Katia in Housekeeping. The owners, Antonella and Paolo should be very proud of these fine young people. I highly recommend the Alma Hotel and would happily stay here again.

I really like the staff. They are pleasant, friendly, and professional. The room is wonderful: spacious and with a nice balcony. We also enjoy having a kitchen and full-sized fridge. We've extended our stay a few days. This is a wonderful hotel.

There are hotels that you stay at, and there are hotels that stay with you: Alma Hotel is definitely one of the latter. After last staying there *seven years ago*, I made a last-minute booking after unexpectedly findingal myself in Palermo for the night. The welcome I received upon my return was as if I were a member of the family. Everything about the hotel is perfect, from the staff (and especially the genuine warmth and hospitality of the owners Antonella and Paolo), the spacious, well-appointed rooms (the suite was exceptional), and the abundant spread and showcasing of local Sicilian treats at breakfast. The only downside? That I waited seven years before returning … next time I shan’t leave it nearly as long! PS. The owners of the hotel have also recently opened a restaurant nearby, Sapori Peduti, that continues the theme of warmth and hospitality , with exquisite food and wines to match!

We loved the Alma Hotel! The attentiveness of the staff is one of the reasons. Our room was a cool oasis during the extremely hot weather. It is centrally located near tourist spots and wonderful restaurants. The breakfast is FANTASTIC! We will definitely return to Alma Hotel on our next Palermo visit.

We stayed here for 5 nights before this one night stay and rated the hotel highly. Nothing has changed regarding staff service, cleanliness and convenience which are all fantastic. This time we stayed in a room over the main Marion Stabile road which proved rather noisy despite closing all windows. For some reason this cramped road appears to be a favourite for motorcyclists to race down!

Stay at the Alma hotel for 2 nights. Room was perfect for our needs, comfortable bed, clean & bathroom with a shower. Room comes with a mini bar with soft drinks, water which are free to have. We also were given a bottle of bubbles to celebrate our wedding anniversary which was a lovely touch. Staff are extremely friendly & helpful. Hotel location is great, easy walk to all the attractions & dining spots. Would definitely recommend.

Trapped in the hotel
The power failed on the second night of our stay which resulted in the door at reception locking leaving us with no means of escape! There is no fire escape in the property. The emergency lighting also failed to operate. The owner of the hotel arrived after a short while but struggled to release the door. If there had been a fire we would have been trapped. The owner was reluctant to accept responsibility for these failings. He asked us what we wanted him to do, he should maintain his property and offer guests a safe place to stay.

The hotel staff was amazing. The room was clean but basic. The bed was terrible and lumpy and the pillow cases were made from an unknown substance and very uncomfortable.
