The Condo was lovely and very roomy. The beds were comfortable. The view from the living area and on the balcony was spectacular. The elevators are slow on the weekends when travelers are coming and going, so don't be in a hurry. The weekdays were not as bad. Overall it was a great place to stay with 6 adults and 3 kidos.

The check in process could use some work. Way too many people checking in at one time for this big of resort. The elevators need maintenance really bad. Most was hot no air. Very slow during busy times.

Great location. Need to update cookware. Couldn’t find where to get ahold of someone to let them know they could clean the condo early because we had to leave a day early because my mother passed away. We told the front desk and they said to contact the property owner….. anywho , it was a great location, very roomy for 10 guests .

The place was awesome! Great location! The only issue we had was with the front desk. We were told we could check in when we got there at 11am but in reality we had to check in at 4pm. So that just a fiasco in itself. The elevators are slow and that seems to be the only issue with everyone we talked to. The only thing we had an issue with in this condo was the pillows were way to hard. Other than that, this condo was great! I would definitely stay here again!

Elevators from hell

Elevators was horrible (the wait was from anywhere to 30 minutes to a hour). The ice maker was broken and the room stayed hot no matter what you set the thermostat on.

Small Improvements

Beautiful view. Needs improvements with various items. Master Shower curtain and kitchen garbage can have seen way better days. Sink wouldn’t drain very fast in two of the bathrooms. Kitchen was very limited and coffee cups were the size of tea cups! Little improvements would make a big difference! Please add a hairdryer and thicker comforters on the beds!

CLEAN BUT POOR BEDDING

This rental is clean but don't expect a good night sleep. The unit should not be advertised for sleeping 6 when no one can be expected to sleep with springs and bars in their backs. The bed in the room was not a great mattress either. You could rest on it but I woke up multiple times in the night aching from that mattress. The wifi would barely pick up, so don't expect service from that.

A nice getaway

Beautiful condo with a gorgeous view. One of the bathrooms had stuff growing in the toilet, but was easily scrubbed out. The whole week the people above us were moving furniture and loudly stomping/running (not that the condo can help that) and there were 2 elevators out of service (the one directly outside the condo and one of the 3 elevators located on the condos side of the building) furthering the elevator waiting issue. The mattresses are getting worn out, but weren’t so bad you can’t sleep in them. We missed not having two beach chair rentals as we are accustomed to when staying at tidewater (I assume other condo owners opt into paying for it). Otherwise everything was clean, pretty and a nice stay.

Cleanliness and comfort

The check-in and communication with the property manager were effortless. RealJoy response to my calls and text messages was very timely. However, the unit required a lot of updates. All of the mattresses were worn and needed to be replaced. The sofa's were old, worn and soft in different areas. The carpets in the bedroom felt dirty, I would not recommend having carpets in a beach unit. The bathroom tub had a dirt ring which we had to clean and the shower curtain in one of the bathrooms had mold on it. Last year the elevators required maintenance and they were not fixed this year. Very concerning. The unit we had last year was very nice, updated and clean. We will not be staying at the Tidewater again.

The reviews about the elevators are accurate. They are a disaster. Several times we took the stairs, all 21 flights as it was faster than the elevators which yes were busy during check in/check out, but also constantly under maintenance which worsened the problem. The unit itself is great, well appointed. The only suggestion I would have is that there really should be some additional blankets in the building. There is a big difference in the rooms in the front vs the ones that are closer to the living room, therefore some rooms were chilly while others were the right temperature, would not have been a problem if the property had more than a very thin sheet and thin coverlet on the beds. We ended up using the blankets from our cars and buying a few cheap ones to be comfortable. Overall if you don't mind either waiting forever for elevators or taking 21 flights of steps than the place is great.

The condo itself was great…..

Our only complaint would be the elevators! With the amount of people staying at the resort, the elevators just simply can’t keep up. If you are already checked in, forget about going somewhere between 3pm and 9pm unless you have the patience. Obviously there was not air conditioning while waiting. Other than that, we had zero complaints! Be beds were amazing in our unit, beside the bunk beds.
