"I would give this place a 0 stars if I could. This turned into a vacation from hell. Tired, old, amenities in ruin. Cutting corners with hygiene, caused me to end up in hospital for 4 days with e-coli and Norovirus - from their food and drinks. I reached out for some sort of explanation, compensation or even apology … and got nothing. NOTHING!!! No response, despite several reach outs. Expedia supported my claim - and were responsive - but wouldn’t take them off of their list of properties???!!! As, “according to the rules and regulations”, they didn’t owe me any compensation for a vacation that they ruined. And cost me my good health. Expedia tried to offer me the days missed if we went back before the end of 2026. Not only are flights not affordable to us, but we would NEVER stay there again. Trying to keep others from ending up with a similar experience and ruined vacation :("

"This is a gorgeous property but not as all inclusive as you'd think for the price.They try to get you to a timeshare meeting when you arrive but they aren't too pushy. Then, as you go, you find out there are a lot of "yes, buts". For example, we asked a bartender if we could take a bottle of wine back to our room with us and he said yes just call room service. So we did and they said the limit was 2 glasses and it would be a 45 minute wait. The staff were friendly but you had to pay mucho out of pocket to get all-inclusive type service. Will look for another resort next time we go back. Costa Rica is beautiful and has great culture. Not as cheap as say, Mexico, but paradise. "

"Could not get the hot water to turn on The knob was not the current one for the cartridge But since it was so hot it did not really matter Room was very clean This was my second time here I am 50 50 on coming back"

"**Hôtel Margaritaville – Avis** Hôtel **très propre**, autant pour les chambres que pour les aires communes. L’ambiance est **très calme et relaxante** : dès **22 h**, tout est tranquille. Aucun party ni discothèque, parfait pour se reposer. L’animation est minimale, avec des activités douces comme le bingo et l’aquaforme. La **plage est située juste en face de l’hôtel**. C’est une superbe plage publique de **sable blanc**, sans algues ni roches, idéale pour marcher (jusqu’à **2 km**). La nourriture est bonne et le **buffet déjeuner est très apprécié**. Plusieurs restaurants se trouvent aussi à proximité. L’hôtel est à environ **30 minutes en taxi de Tamarindo**. **Points négatifs** : * Il n’y a pas de palapas sur la plage. * Il faut demander des chaises au gardien de sécurité ; elles sont peu confortables. * Les **vélos et petites planches pour la mer sont payants**. * La mer est **très agitée**, avec des vagues fortes, ce qui peut être moins agréable pour la baignade."

"Pools clean and grounds very well maintained, we had a beautiful room, just smelled moldy so we had to air it.very environmentally cautious and responsibly, no disposable anything, everything energy efficient and conserving resources, everything reusable, clean, we really liked that! Food was very good, enough variety. Staff very nice and always cleaning, working, refilling, picking up, asking what you need but in a discteet way. Not even 1 bad experience with staff interaction. I will definitely come back with family."

"Estuvo precioso una gran experiencia, solo nos quedamos 2 noches y tuvimos un problema con el booking de un restaurante pero de verdad fenomenal, y para sellar con broche de oro, cuando íbamos saliendo del cuarto el muchacho de transporte nos vio y se bajo a ayudarnos a sacar más maletas nos llevó a los carros y nos llevó a la recepción muy buen servicio el de Michael el chófer."

"From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff were super unfriendly & not helpful. They did not make eye contact. We asked several staff members where we could find towels & they could only point towards the massive pool. The beach is completely full of people selling things like nothing I’ve ever seen & the vendors are very aggressive in soliciting you. The pool is extremely uninviting with cups and trash left around the pool and the bathroom unusable because it was so dirty. This hotel does not meet normal Westin standards. Thankfully we were able to move to the W next door where everything was wonderful, clean & the staff were amazing and friendly. Rosa made the moving process extremely difficult since she was trying to charge us twice after we were told we would get a full refund for the Westin. Luckily, it was straightened out by the helpful staff at the W. During our stay at the W, we ran into guests of the Westin who were buying day passes at the W for all of the same reasons as noted above - right down to the towels,"
