Beautiful property! This home was perfect for our “up north” family vacation. We enjoyed cooking in the spacious kitchen, relaxing on the back patio with the beautiful view of the lake, and waking up to the colorful sunsets over the water.Dale does a wonderful job making this a welcoming space - kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need for cooking, baking, etc. Bedrooms are comfy/cozy with plenty of blankets and extra pillows.We took day trips out to Oswald’s bear ranch (45 minute drive), the falls (15-20 min drive depending on road work), and Whitefish Point (12 minute drive)

This home is an architectural masterpiece!  We loved the way it is integrated with the beautiful natural environment surrounding it.  With all the wonderful windows and skylights, you get the feeling of being in a luxuriously appointed tree house.  It is so tastefully decorated and provides   guests with every imaginable convenience—we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Fabulous time at Gitche Gumee Lodge!

We stayed with our adult children and it was perfect for us. We had plenty of space to relax and gather for games and meals in the evening. It was centrally located for all the activities we had planned in the UP. A beautiful view of the lake and we saw ships every day. Dale was available for any questions we had and made sure we had a comfortable stay.

Great time in Paradise

First visit to the UP in winter. A lot of snow and cold weather but the home was warm and inviting. I would love to stay at this house again. Great communication with the owner and very nice place to stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Dale’s place. The location was amazing. The house was clean and well equipped. Definitely recommend it for someone who wants a peaceful place to stay right on the shore of Lake Superior.

Great place to stay

Dale was great! Home was very accommodating for our family trip. Conveniently located to many sites for day trips exploring the upper peninsula. Beautiful sunrises in the morning and the highlight for me was watching a lake otter play in the water.

Great Location and Peaceful Setting

We really enjoyed our stay. Very spacious home, clean and comfortable. Loved the back covered deck and views of Whitefish Bay. The firepit area was great as we enjoyed sitting by the fire overlooking the bay. The location was perfect for seeing the various sites. Dale was a great host and answered any questions we had. Great stay.

Perfect spot

Great place for our family of 5. Beautiful views and had everything we needed. Very convenient, close to all our activities. Can not say enough about Dale who went above and beyond when our son left his wallet behind. Would definitely stay here again.

Truly Paradise

this property was wonderful, more amenities than you expect with a typical rental. the lakeview is stunning. Paradise is a great location to take in all of the UP sites and landscape

Loves our stay in the UP! First time in the UP and we relaxed annoyed the view , but also mixed in the sites. Was a great home-base to go to Mackinaw Island, Pictured rocks, Oswald Bear Ranch, Shipwreck Museum and Taquanemon Falls.

Paradise

The home was just as pictured on the VRBO site. Beautiful, very comfortable home away from home. Amazing sunrise every morning. The home was close to all the sites we were interested in visiting.

Relaxing waterfront stay

We enjoyed sitting by the water listening to the waves and the breeze and bonfires at night. Saw incredible sunrises and the moon had many different views. Enjoyed stargazing with our grandson. Visited Tahquamenon Falls, the summer sled dog facility, Soo Locks and Brimley. The only thing that was bothersome was having to live out of a suitcase as there was only closets to hang clothes. Would definitely stay again!

Long Weekend Getaway

We had a really nice stay here. The view is amazing, the house was very clean and beautiful. The main bedroom upstairs is really nice. Great view from the seating area for sunrises, and also star gazing at night. Dale was a great host. He responded very quickly when we had questions. Would definitely recommend the Gitche Gummee Lodge! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your amazing house.

Paradise...In Paradise!!!

Between the view and the location, it was the perfect spot to stay at for 6 days. All the most common destination to visit in the UP are very close to enjoy and make day trips all week long. Dale was very attentive to answering the questions I had, prior to making the trip. The house had all the accommodations needed to make the 6 days stay easy. The overall living space in the house, the outdoor deck and firepit available to hang out, made no one feel crowded. You won't be disappointed to stay here!!

Oh the view

We had a very relaxing time in Paradise. The sunrises were just gorgeous! We enjoyed tracking the ships and watching them off in the distance passing by. Dale was very responsive with any questions we had before and during our stay. Most of the local businesses were closed so we didn't do much exploring in town. We did go to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, which is a must see!
