COVID-19 may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't dampened our zeal for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to handle the new challenges of travelling:

• Investigate what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so make sure you check before you book.
• You must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA officer.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA employee. Rather, place your pass on the scanner and then hold it up to allow the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag for screening.
• To minimize handling during screening, place items such as your keys, wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.
