"Nice heated pool, clean room"

"Window near bathroom had a light shining in all night. Adding a curtain would help. One switch that turns on the bathroom light and vent at the same time was annoying. You could be in the bathroom without hearing the annoying fan running. Seafood restaurant outside of our room stank so fish all day and night so we couldn’t enjoy the balcony or leave the windows open. Bed was soft though."

"The hotel is quite isolated and next to what appears to be a township. Certainly we didn’t feel safe "

"Great staff and location, but room, breakfast and facilities were lacking - did not feel like a 5 star hotel. Our bedroom was often damp, the carpet had wet spots and 1 day our bed sheets had wet patches that we had to blow dry. The bedroom was also directly next to a roundabout so heavy traffic and no privacy to see the views / needed more sound proofing. "

"Abalone Guest House is great. Excellent welcome and hospitality. Good location overlooking the ocean towards Voelklip about 5k to the east of Hermanus. "

"Everything was immaculate. Welcoming hosts. Breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. Whale watching from room was amazing and good sightings along the bay too. Room was beautiful and well equipped with thoughtful touches. Would highly recommend as a better alternative to staying in Hermanus. "
