Don't miss the chance to get away from it all in this beautiful, private vacation home on Larks Lake. This four- bedroom, two bath, two story house sleeps 9, sits on 8 acres of land and has 200 feet of lake frontage.
Flanked by woods on both sides for privacy, the property has huge lawns front and back for visitors to enjoy. The area fronting the lake is bisected by a gravel road that gives postal access to this house and 3 others further east. It does not impact the beautiful view or the amount of space for lawn games and lake access.
The open floor plan and cathedral ceilings on the ground floor, with a wall of large windows facing the lake, make this vacation home a light, airy and beautiful place to stay. Furnished with Northwoods decor, other attractive features include walk-out balconies facing the lake in the upstairs bedrooms and a loft area that provides extra sleeping capacity. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with an island and a dining table that seats 8 to 10 comfortably. There is a bar off the living room which has a wood-burning stove (as it's sole source of heat for that 1 room) and offers another gathering place to entertain friends and family.
Water conservation at the cottage is not only nice, it is essential. Please be aware that you will lose water pressure if both showers are in use, along with the washing machine and the dishwasher. This home does have a well and the pump will replenish what has been used. However, the pressure will be minimal until it has filled back up, usually about 15 minutes.
Larks Lake is 25 miles from beautiful Petoskey, a popular area for tourists in the summer, located on Little Traverse Bay. Wonderful and unique Mackinac Island is a short trip north. The area boasts ski resorts and golf courses for year-round fun. Bring your own pontoon! The boat launch is a mile away and you can keep your boat at our dock for the length of your stay. The lake itself is 600 acres of quiet, shallow and pristine northern Michigan. After a full day of boating, fishing, or playing lawn games your group will love campfires under the stars and evenings listening to the loons. Whether you seek summer boating and fishing, or autumn colors and crisp nights, or winter skiing and cozy amenities, this year-round house is the perfect place for your next get-away.
**Preventative actions to avoid swimmer's itch -- 1. Use a waterproof sunscreen, baby oil, or waterproof insect repellent before swimming. 2. Briskly towel off after swimming. If you do get swimmer's itch, use a cortisone cream to relieve the itching. The reaction subsides within a few days.

Went up for the weekend with two families. The house was perfect for our ski trip to Nubs Nob. It was the perfect size for the 8 of us, clean, and well appointed.
Great location for skiing at Nubs. Very spacious for adults and kids to spread out. The lake would have been fun if it had been cold enough for safe ice. Looking forward to another stay in the future.
This place was perfect for 4 couples and visiting northern Michigan in July. The house was clean and the layout was ideal for our group. We also enjoyed playing shuffleboard in the evenings. Mouse Jaw Junction was a short walk through the woods and the food was great. Great time overall!
This was great for our family of 6! Lots of space to spread out if we wanted, but cozy enough to be all together too. It had everything we needed for all the cooking we wanted to do. The swing by lake was a favorite spot of ours. Response time from the owners when we had a small issue was timely.
We had the best time at the cabin, it was warm, cozy, and beautiful. The views outside the window were stunning. Check-in was smooth, and we were able to check in sooner than the designated check-in time. Being that we were traveling with 3 kiddos, and had a 7 hour drive, it was SUPER convenient so get in the house an hour earlier instead of spending another hour in the car. Will definitely return!
This is a very nice property in a lovely scenic location. The lake is beautiful. The house was very clean and spacious. the grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed our stay. This property is located quite a long distance from a grocery store, at least an hour from the south and close to 45 minutes or an hour to the north. One issue I had is small, but still notable for us. The listing advertised that laundry detergent and dish detergent was suppied for listings with those facilities, so I did not buy any on our trip to the grocery store before arrival. When we arrived I found 2 pods of laundry detergent and 2 pods of dishwasher detergent and a nearly empty bottle of dish soap. This would be for 7 guests and a 4-night stay. Not nearly enough detergent, especially since we were asked to, upon our departure, run a load of towels and run the dishwasher!! The oven also smoked when we started it because it needed to be cleaned. I suggest that if the listing says that dish detergent and laundry detergent is provided, that enough be provided for at LEAST one load a day at the bare minimum, especially since it is not convenient to run out and grab detergent because there isn't anywhere close by to buy it.
Larks Lake Lodge was clean, well stocked with amenities, and we especially enjoyed the game room area. Beautiful setting overlooking the lake and easy access with vehicles, being able to pull in to the driveway from the lake side of the lot and exit on the side behind the house, with plenty of parking in between. Comfortable beds. Strong WiFi. A quiet get-away, yet a short drive to down hill skiing, restaurants, and in the winter, able to access the snowmobile trail system across the road. Recommend highly.
This was our second year gathering at the Larks Lake Lodge and yet again it did not disappoint. Winter or summer, It’s a perfect fit for large groups or families. The kids love the paddle boat and room to play both outside and in.
We had a great time. The house was clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. Beautiful view of the lake from all the bedrooms. Very quiet peaceful area. Wonderful experience
The house was perfect, exactly like the online pictures! It was very clean! The yard and view was beautiful! The ride into the city, and island was very easy, not far a all! Perfect for a vacation, family trip, girls trip, etc! The communication with the property owners was great! Definitely recommend staying here!!!
Spacious, quiet setting. Everything was as advertised. Had some problems with the oven, the property manager was responsive and refunded some of our money for the inconvenience.
The house is nicely appointed and clean. I was very impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was with cooking utensils, pots/pans, even a crockpot and insta-pot! Never saw that in a VRBO before! The grounds are beautiful and well kept and the area is very peaceful. However, the area near the dock is not good for swimming as described in the property overview. You sink mid-calf in silt and we lost a pair of water shoes as a result. Pioneer Park across the lake is better for swimming and is a short drive.
There's plenty of room for everyone in this beautiful four bedroom home. Enjoy your morning coffee on the bench swing overlooking the water. True relaxation in this home.
The house was lovely and had an amazing deck to relax with views of the lake. Convenient stores are about 7-25 minute drives. 25 minute drives to Mackinac City and Petoskey. Would definitely return for another getaway
