Great Location, great walkable neighborhood..
Inside the cottage it is a bit worn but workable.
Great location to walk downtown, local breweries, restaurants, coffee shops etc. The home was clean and comfortable for our 2 night stay. The beach amenities provided were a great extra touch!
This little cottage was perfect for a couples getaway. Close to downtown to enjoy all things offered by Pensacola on Palafox. Cozy and clean. A/C worked very well and the bed was very comfortable. Very nice small kitchen with just right appliances. Host was great with notifications. We had no issues with the property, so never had to contact them.
Although there was a little hiccup, I still love the place. Really is the perfect location.

Location & Price Worth It
Lots of pros & cons about "The Jesse" but overall the pros outweighed the cons. Pro 1: Location close walking to main downtown & driving to beach. Pro 2: Price for location. Pro 3: 2x Strong Window AC Units. Pro 4: Great on-call customer support. Con 1: Very old property. Pealing paint, squeaking floor, grungy feel, some things falling apart/down, etc Con 2: Extremely sandy floor when arrived. Con 3: Communication all occurred outside of VRBO app (Phone calls, emails). Con 4: Did not receive check in details till 12:30am after having to call 24/7 support number.
Generally great for someone who wants to be downtown but does not care about luxury.

Reviewer Comments:
I booked this little house for my business colleague because it is around the corner from me and his accommodations had fallen through at the last moment. I was very pleased that this home was available on short notice. There was a lot of confusion, however, on the host’s part as to when he was supposed to arrive. But once he got in the place, it was warm and cute and clean and very adequate for what he needed. The space heaters worked great even though he experienced the biggest snow storm the panhandle has seen in about 100 years. He was asked to drip the water in his faucets overnight, which we Floridians in older homes know all about. He was unfamiliar with it but did a pretty good job, all in all. Overall, the stay was good and I think, most importantly, the price absolutely cannot be beat for the superb location.

Reviewer Comments:
Although I understand the Cottage (Jesse) we stayed in was 120 years old, it certainly left a lot to be desired. Window frames extremely peeled and weak. Walls needed to be stripped and new sheetrock put up. The cottage was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. It was, however, a convenient location. The Downtown area is a very old area, but the places that were kept up were very nice. Unless you are a beach fanatic, there isn't much to do except go to a bar or restaurant. We would recommend the Hub Staceys or McGuires Irish Restaurant for drinks and food. Will we be .
Loved staying at the Jesse. It was nothing fancy, but very clean and had everywhere needed. I didn't like paying an extra 48 to VRBO, so I will never use them again!
Needed a place in the neighborhood to accommodate a family guest who was in town for the night

If you’re looking for simple accommodations in a quiet and friendly neighborhood, this could be your place. The bed is very comfortable. I’m kinda tall, so finding a long, comfortable bed is a luxury in itself. The kitchen is adequate for basic needs, and the bathroom shower had perfect water pressure and temperature. The neighbors are very friendly (one helped my girlfriend figure out how to operate the Smart TV), and the geckos enjoy bobbing their heads on the front porch to Indie Rock music. We loved our stay, and hope to cone back.

Reviewer Comments:
We were disappointed in the condition of the house: no curtains in living room and kitchen. Both sets of locks on front door and back door were very loose and hard to get into. The art work was missing in the living room. Bathroom selves were almost falling off, and toilet paper holder is hanging by one screw. The kitchen oven door was dirty. The floor needed a good mopping. We were never able to park in front of the house, like it said in the ad. The photos in the ad were very misleading. It doesn’t look like anyone is making an effort to keep this property up. And the worst thing is, we were visited by several Palmetto bugs.We believe the pictures of the property do not match reality. It’s our opinion that alittle TLC could massage The Jesse into the charming little home that it can be.Allison and Jeffrey Thompson
