"The ocean was visible from both our rooms. We did not cook, just made tea; but the kitchen appeared to be well equipped and we saw other guests cooking. The bathroom was clean and had several showers, so we never had to wait The hostel is very conveniently located in downtown Hilo."

"We came for the Merrie Monarch festivities. Staff is amazing, the room was clean. We enjoyed breakfast and a late lunch early dinner...the food was amazing!!!"

"Checking in had some hiccups, we had to wait half hr for our host to open our bedroom, once we got settled in our room and she was able to set up a second queen bed. We had the master bedroom, it great to have our own bathroom. Bfst was served the next morning and got to meet the rest of the occupants, was very nice."

Our only complaint was that we wanted to extend our stay by another night and the front desk could not do it without waiting for the reservation staff to arrive which wasn't to happen until 10am. Essentially we had to pack up, check out and be checked back in later. Needless to say we did not stay. "

"The start of the stay started off well with Sarge, the property manager, and all, with him cooking for us and welcoming us in. The rules were very strict in having no outter footwear inside the house. The property was nice with a stray cat, named White Knight, being around the property to be there during your stay. However, things went downhill when we found out that one of our friends was hit on by Sarge, which made her feel uncomfortable. We were caught off guard by this action and let the other guests who went there with us, to be cautious and watch over her. "
