In the heart of CATHAR COUNTRY, a restored shepherd's house nestled in nature AVAILABLE WIFI: stays that will be remembered whatever the season! Also ideal for visiting the sites of the Cathar castles and the medieval city of Carcassonne, hiking, fishing ... and rest.

In an atmosphere where the logs crackle, a large fireplace allows, in winter, to organize large outbreaks of Christmas, New Years, Carnival or Easter holidays, in a setting that is both romantic and comfortable , and after returning, for example, from a visit to a Cathar castle or the City of Carcassonne, a long walk in the woods or the colorful Limoux Carnival.


From spring and until All Saints' Day, the beautiful exposure on the river is ideal for lunches outside followed by sunbathing, or naps in the shade according to the taste of each, and before going fishing in the stream.

The 'teens', for their part, will' enjoy 'sailing in kayaks on the sports site of Alet les Bains, 20 minutes' drive away, and in the evening going to the rock scene of the Carcassonne International Festival or on the Place de Limoux which brings together many young people from all countries.

The Gite, rehabilitated in the style of the past and comfortable, is organized on 2 levels connected by wooden staircase:
- the living room (with a convertible sofa and a dining table, and with a fireplace and a large mirror) is located on the ground floor, as is the kitchen ( a 2-burner hob, an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator, a dishwasher ...) and the bathroom (a claw foot tub, a large sink and toilet, as well only a towel dryer and a washing machine);
-the night part is organized on the 1st floor, with 2 separate spaces (see photos) by a whole series of old openwork beams, with on one side a double bed equipped with a box spring and a 140 mattress cm wide, and on the other 2 old iron beds 80 cm wide (sheets and towels are provided)
The house overlooks a clearing, without any opposite on one side as on the other, and is located 50 meters from a place in the shade by the river. It is made available to visitors a table and chairs for meals, deckchairs, a parasol and a charcoal barbecue.
This Gite is ideal for a family with 2 children, plus if necessary a teenager sleeping on the convertible sofa in the living room.
Many couples without children particularly appreciate its decor, its romanticism, and its location in the heart of a very peaceful countryside.
Groups of adults (3 or 4) also had excellent stays in the house.
This Gite will appeal to families who appreciate the charm, authenticity and comfort of old houses (see photos); it is not suitable for visitors who prefer "modern" houses or rehabilitations "which imitate the old".
