"Unfortunately, our room was not very clean. Also the safe was not working. That's why we contacted the staff to give us a new room. Unfortunately, the next room was the same. So a handyman came to fix the safe and a cleaner to clean again. In the end it was okay. The staff was very friendly and helpful."

"We booked a room for 4 people on Expedia which had good reviews and a high rating, but when we arrived it was a 12 bedded dorm which we would not have booked. We emailed the property for clarification but we did not get a response.We feel we were not given what we asked for. On the website it stated that there was a 4 bedded room available but not a 3 bedded room or 2 bedded room. So we felt there were only 4 beds in a room. Could you explain how this has happened? "We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tugu Malang. The building is unique and gorgeous, and filled with very interesting decorations and artifacts. They offer a free guided tour of the hotel to explain some of the history about these decorations and artifacts. The staff is very attentive, the rooms are nice and have character, the hotel is environmentally conscious, and the food is excellent. The hotel is in the center of Malang and within walking distance of things to see such as Kajoetangan Heritage Village."
