"As others have said, the room has a great vibe especially for couples, with its art and decor - Had a great stay. There was some confusion on Expedia whether this was the Highmount or Shandaken location about 8 miles away: The confirmation email from Expedia said "You're going to Shandaken!", when actually it was the Highmount lodge that I signed up for. Also a little misleading was Expedia's listing of the room as having 1.5 baths (with one description saying 2 bathrooms!) when the room only had one normal (but nice) bathroom - perhaps they meant that it had a bathtub/shower combo. Arriving after dark, it was a little hard to find the entry door to the second floor rooms - maybe having the room numbers on that outer door would help. None of that detracted from having a very enjoyable stay there."

"What a lovely week at the red barn! Every aspect of the home and the location are ideal for total relaxation. If you need to reset in nature and also appreciate art, antiques and architecture then the aesthetics make this the perfect place to stay. It’s like living in an art gallery and besides being comfortable, it’s truly a feast for the eyes. Waking up on the second floor with a view to the outdoors and the amazing ceiling was a treat. The living and dining areas are spacious and inviting. We cooked at the red barn a few times and the kitchen is well equipped with anything you might need. Truly a home away from home.Blythe is so kind and communicative and made the entire stay a breeze. She even recommended a local festival to us and we ended up having a great time that day. The home is close restaurants, shops, hiking and cute towns. A perfect stay in the Catskills to finish summer. Thank you, Blythe!"

"Everything was clean and neat but aged. Had to wait on Hot tub to be cleaned but did get to use within 24 hours of arriving. Loved the kitchen . the space was just what we looked for lots of bedrooms and baths. Made good use of sitting areas and dinning room large enough for table games"
