A Touch of Southern Paradise
This lake house is beautiful in itself - both inside and out - and then you add the gorgeous surroundings and serenity that the property offers around the house and you have the recipe for a heavenly, relaxing and romantic escape from the hustle and bustle of the chaotic world around you. As advertised, the sunsets were extraordinary and the night sky away from the city reveals a billion stars which are also reflected in the lake on calm evenings. Come prepared as this somewhat remote slice of paradise is a 15 minute drive from the nearest restaurant or grocery store and pickings are slim..

The wrap around porch is wonderful and such a beautiful view of the lake!!! Everything you will ever need is in this house! It was a great getaway!!! Neighbor was so quiet and so much fun watching the boats!!

Family get-together
We've stayed at quite a few VRBOs and this is definitely in our top 3. The house is absolutely beautiful with the view of the lake and cypress trees. We live in SWFL and my sister in law lives in Pensacola so we wanted to meet halfway to get the family together. We had 7 adults and 7 kids and it was plenty big. Kids between ages 1-13 and they all had a blast. The rope swing is so much fun, there's a little playground, and a pool table upstairs. We brought fishing poles, cornhole, horseshoes, and board games. The yard is huge. No luck fishing lol and it rained one of the days, but our last night there the sunset was BEAUTIFUL! Owners were very responsive, place was clean, quite a few extra blankets, and the kitchen was fully stocked with cookware/utensils/coffee pot/Keurig/crockpot, etc. And there's a gas grill on the porch. Highly recommend!

Perfect location for a women's retreat
I hosted a women's retreat here and it was absolutely perfect. The area is extremely quiet and peaceful. There is plenty of room to spread out to have quiet alone time or to gather together as a group and sit for learning sessions. Every single one of the women who attended loved the place and we all voted to come back again!

Wedding Retreat

Nice place, beautiful view, great porch, plenty of beds. Only negative was that there was hair in the master bed when we arrived. Other beds seemed ok. Otherwise the place was very clean and well maintained. Sunsets were spectacular!

Family time.
This house has lots of room, the kitchen is nice. The lake is beautiful you need a boat to really enjoy it. We visited Blue Springs State Park while in the area loved it. Look forward to next year.

Awesome Stay
The house is just as pictured on the website. There is no shortage on space. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of pots, pans and small appliances. There is plenty of seating inside and out.My grandkids really enjoyed the swing hanging from the tree. Overall its a wonderful place to make great memories.

Great Mother's Day Weekend
The house is amazing, plenty of room for all 11 of us to enjoy and spread out. Kitchen is spacious enough for several ppl to gather and help with cooking. We forgot a few spices, but the kitchen was well equipped with just what we needed. I could see us staying longer next time around. Plenty of room for parking our 4 cars. We borrowed the kayak on the property and brought 3 more with us. The water is beautiful, just wished the dock had a better way of launching and retrieving the kayaks but the men made do. The kids loved the tree swing and all of the adults enjoyed a cool drink on the wrap around porch. All A's from my family and I except for garbage collection. There is only one large can outside and with 11 of us it filled up quickly. I would recommend a 2nd can as by the time we went to the garbage dump on Saturday it was closed as we didn't realize what time it was. So, we brought the over- flow of garbage back home with us. ( No biggie) but just a recommendation. Not sure if the kitchen faucet was ever mentioned in a previous review but the handle kept falling off, but we just kept reattaching it, lol. Thank You for opening your beautiful home so that others can enjoy as we definitely did !!

We are happy you enjoyed your stay. A dock improvement for launching kayaks is on the list. There are two large trash cans on the porch on the side of the house. Many people think the one can in the shed is for trash, but the cans are actually on the porch in an enclosure to keep the critters out. We hope you will come again!

FSU Graduation
Super clean and tons of room for our party of 13. It’s about an hour from Tallahassee - easy drive for graduation or any other event. It had EVERYTHING we needed as far as any imaginable kitchen tool, linens, etc. We were concerned with stairs as two of our party are elderly. Photo is back of house. Easy access in front. Would definitely stay in this place again. Enjoyed sitting on back porch and relaxing, fishing etc.

We met friends here (both of us have young kids). The house was perfect for multiple families, young kids and even infants (they had a crib in a room connected to one of the masters). The listing actually does not do the house justice, as it has way more space than you realize. Very pleased with the host as well. Great communication!

Valdosta State graduation celebration
We had a fantastic long weekend at the property celebrating my daughters college graduation. The house was large enough for us to have our whole family, ages 9 mos to 80 years. The interior of the house was great. The beds and bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic. The kitchen was also great for what we were doing. The only disappointment was the furniture on the outdoor porch and the propane grill. All the surfaces outside were very dirty and had to be cleaned before our guests arrived. The propane grill had to be cleaned as well. But the worst part about the grill was that the burners were rusted so bad that it was difficult to cook on and manage temperature. Our main celebration involved grilling and if I had known the condition of the grill I would have done something different.

A wonderful place for a family gathering. Beautiful Lake view and access. More than ample room. Santa found us with no problem at all. Be aware, the large smoker grill is not there but a campfire ring and grate held our pork butts and ribs just fine.

Rental Review- Awesome Home Experience
This property was amazing. We enjoyed everything for our large family who was there for a wedding and wanted to all be together. The kitchen was great for large family dinners, the pool table was fun for the teens and being on the water was perfect for water sports and evenings on the lake. We enjoyed our stay very much. The owner was amazing at helping us with the check in and out process and accommodating a few special requests so that we could meet timelines coinciding with the wedding plans. We were extremely appreciative. I highly recommend this beautiful home for family events.

This house has just about everything you family will need. We thoroughly enjoyed the house. We found it very clean and lots of space inside. There was only 5 of us, but the house can fit a lot more. Very quiet and a good view of the lake. The only thing I can complain about is having to wash towels and put them back. If you are leaving early in the AM, it makes it hard to do. I still give this place 5 STARS! Contacting the owner was easy enough, and she always replied. We would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Fabulous weekend stay!
We had a fabulous weekend! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the home had plenty of room! The dock was easy to access with our boat and in good condition. The kids had a blast on the water pad. The only thing could have been better was the gas grill. The covers were off of the burners and it was not easy to control the flame or temp, but we got our steaks done! I would highly recommend staying! We can't wait to go again!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

You are correct, John, it does need some TLC. I had tried to get someone out there in May before the summer got busy. My usual handyman told me he was too busy and gave me another guy to call. I did and had everything arranged with him and he never showed up and never returned my calls. In June, July and August we were booked pretty much back to back and it's impossible to get much done in the 4 hour window between guests. I have set aside Labor Day weekend for our family to be at the lake and it will be a weekend of labor for us. We will do as much repairs as we can while we are there and I'll keep trying to get the handyman out there as well.

The property was excellent for a family vacation, Cherry Lake was a lot of fun for the family and the large property made it excellent for a family outing because while everyone was together there was also space for privacy. Tina is an outstanding host and very responsive to guest needs. The only reason they get a five star rating is because there are no six star ratings. Will definitely stay here again

Pros: The location is fantastic for privacy with great lake views. The boardwalk to the dock area was very convenient. Weather did not allow for us to use the tandem kayak, but I’m sure it will be very popular. The interior of the house was spacious. We had 3 couples and there was plenty of space for all of us with separate bedrooms and full baths. There were bonus sleeping rooms if you needed extra beds for more guests. The common areas and kitchen offered good space for larger groups. The large dining table that seated 8 people was convenient. The bonus room with a pool table upstairs was a nice feature. Baths were spacious with very large showers. There was plenty of furniture to offer storage for extended stays, but most furniture is showing it’s age and could use an update. Kitchen was stocked well for limited meal planning. We drove into Madison (12 miles) each evening for dinner meals and enjoyed several local eateries with good food. The interior of the house was clean. There are several TVs in the house, but we never got any to work. An instruction sheet on how to access video would have been helpful. WiFi was available with a good signal strength throughout the house. Cons: While the house is in a beautiful location, the exterior needs a good power wash. We were not able to use the spacious porch area since most of the porch furniture was covered with dirt and mildew. The lack of ongoing exterior maintenance is apparent with numerous broken railings and damage to wood steps. There were several outdoor furniture pieces on the lake dock, but many had broken vinyl strapping that prevented use. Recap: I have stayed in several Airbnb and VRBO properties and this was a difficult review to write. This property is in a beautiful private setting with the added bonus of the lake views and access. That in itself is a good reason to consider this rental. However, the lack of exterior maintenance definitely lowered the overall satisfaction and should be considered as you make your rental choice.

Thank you for your review. We were there shortly after you and had the exterior pressure washed. In this rural area it is sometimes challenging to find good help and services. We have the house pressure washed every 3 - 4 months. We do remove the damaged furniture when we learn of any issues. I agree, it is time for some new outdoor furniture and we are working on that as well. Thank you for your feedback.

Great Holiday Getaway
We stayed out at Cherry Lake to visit our family over Thanksgiving. Southern Charm was PERFECT for our family. The kids loved being able to fish off the dock, the moms loved the beautiful 4 mile run around the lake, the guys love the deck and out doors and best part we all had our own space to rest our heads!
