"We had a small wedding here in the first week of October, and everything about this villa exceeded our expectations! To start, the property and surrounding area is unbelievably beautiful. Barga and Castelnuovo are hidden gems that had great restaurants and sights to visit. The property itself is nestled on the side of the mountain, and has stunning views of the valley. Our favorite was the morning fog that rolls in! The villa itself was perfectly updated, while retaining its Tuscan charm. We were able to comfortably fit family and friends in the individual apartments that allowed for hanging out but privacy also. However the best part of our stay at the villa was interacting with the owner, our wedding coordinator Marie (through Tuscan retreats), and the staff. They immediately treated us like family and were extremely generous! They cooked our wedding reception dinner as well as the pizza night. The food was up there with some of the best meals we’ve ever had, and the service felt like fine dining! They were so understanding and gracious with all of the chaos that comes with a wedding, and for that we’ll be forever grateful.We highly recommend this property to anyone thinking about getting off the beaten path in Tuscany, we certainly can’t wait for our next visit!"

The hosts, Mirella and Francesco, were exceptional for both our stay and our wedding. The experience was unforgettable, and I cannot thank them enough. "We left a big piece of our collective hearts in Treppignana! The massive, rustic building was perfect for our family group. When you travel a long way (Canada and Norway) it’s great to be impressed and that we were! Everyone was kind and accommodating to us. It was a very personal experience. We had the pizza chef come to feed us one evening. This is most highly recommended. I got pretty good at driving the road up to the palazzo but I recommend two things: at first, don’t do it in the dark, and be sure to rent a narrow, sturdy vehicle. Overall a 10/10 unforgettable experience. "

"Absolutely unique place, which is hard to find anywhere else. It has everything needed for cooking in the kitchen or bbq’ing on the terrace, and the setting within an old castle complex and in the midst of mountainous nature is just awesome. We had a great time here, even though it was unfortunately very short for us. "
