"The Acetaia is a rare gem, untouched by the ruin of “travel influencers,” that I was happy to find in researching a quiet and peaceful stay centrally-located in Emilia Romagna. This B&B is situated inside of a 500 year old manor house on a rustic farm with many friendly animals. It’s run by the Malagoli family matriarch, Barbara, who bakes fresh sweet cakes for breakfast every morning and makes delicious cappuccini. Rooms are large and comfortable, each with its on guest-controlled mini-split AC...
"Great staff and fantastic service. The handicapped capable room needs some minor work on the shower, the water from the shower covers the entire floor instead of angling towards the drain. The staff was very accommodating and quickly made a temporary fix during our stay."
"Lorenzo, the owner was a great host, always very attentive to make sure our stay was excellent! Breakfast was great and our room was very nice with a lot of charm. We highly recommend Il Contado, and Lorenzo!"
"My brothers & I stayed here for three nights while on a road trip, the stay exceeded all expectations, the host Donnatella & Gianni were incredibly hospitable & helpful, as we wanted to go to Modena & Bologna for the City & of course Ferrari, but at Donnatellas suggestion we visited Pagani, a really unexpected highlight, we all agreed you can’t go wrong here, great hosts comfortable rooms& good road connections, we have no hesitation in recommending them, many thanks again"
"The hotel was in a good location, not far from the Ferrari museum, and an in-home cooking class that we took. It was relatively clean, and the air conditioning was fantastic! It was a nice break from the heat. Breakfast is included, which was a plus."
"Great property and owner. Need a car to get around or use taxis. Great location if you want to visit Modena, Parma and Bologna but dont want to stay in the center of any of them. Close to Ferrari, Lamborghini, all sites."
"Great modern hotel in a good location at a reasonable price. Staff very accommodating. Breakfast was excellent as were other hotel services we used including spa."
"If you're visiting Maranello for Ferrari or any other reason, book this place. Very clean rooms, excellent service, great breakfast, anything you could ask for. 10/10, would come back. "
"++ Very clean, good location, free parking, comfy bed
- Rooms are rather small, road noise does not allow to sleep with open windows (good noise isolation when closed though)"

Rooms are large and comfortable, each with its on guest-controlled mini-split AC unit. The property is expansive and fun to explore. Friendly cats, roosters, hens and peacocks roam freely. A family of ducks and donkeys are penned in a large enclosure nearby. Barbera is kind and accommodating, offering many recommendations for meals and things to see in Castelfranco Emilia, Modena, and Bologna. We booked a Parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar tasting experience and enjoyed both very much. The B&B is a great option for anyone seeking respite from overcrowded tourist spots in favor of an authentic “slow travel” experience. It is recommended to rent a car to drive to and from the local cities for things to see and do. The property is located approximately 1/2 hour drive from Maranello, Modena, and Bologna. A little further is Parma, and Florence is possible as a day trip by car or train ride from Bologna. I would not hesitate to return if offered an opportunity to visit the region in the future. "
Swimming pool, wellness and relax in the hills of Bologna
10/10 Excellent
"We had a lovely stay! The garden apartment is even nicer than in photos - very clean, cozy and comfortable. Alessandro's family was welcoming and friendly - Gregorio met with us at check-in, showed us around and remained available to help with any questions. The private patio under the trees was a fantastic place to sit with a morning coffee or a casual dinner in the evening, and the pool and the views were absolutely amazing! We were thankful for the air conditioning too, as it was a hot week. We really enjoyed staying in a place that was small, family-run and semi-private, with one other family staying at the same time - we enjoyed meeting them and playing some games in the pool together. Valsamoggia is a beautiful area, conveniently located close to Bologna and lots of day trip destinations. Five stars on every aspect of this stay, our family of three (with a 15-year-old) had a wonderful time and we wouldn't hesitate to return! "

"We had an amazing stay at Casa di Lori. The apartment is tastefully decorated, bathrooms are spacious and bedrooms have comfortable beds with electric dark out blinds for a restful sleep. Mauro & Lori are such gracious & thoughtful hosts - the fridge was well stocked with breakfast items, juice, milk with bottled water in their utility room which also has a washer & dryer, the bathrooms have all the amenities of a big hotel including toothbrush & tooth paste. Before our departure, they gave us a thoughtful handmade gift. The location is in a small town between Bologna & Modena - excellent location for exploration of the region but you'll need a car. The pizza restaurant in the small town centre was excellent. My husband & I are avid travellers & we have stayed in hotels & VRBO all over the world; this is one of the best, if not the best VRBO we've stayed at. Thank you Mauro & Lori!"
