About this property

The HideAway in Somerset

  • An incredible home with stunning views from the porch or take a short hike to the top of the hill for an amazing 360 degree panoramic view. So nice to sip some champagne or have a beer watching the sunset.

    This amazing home has 2 ground floor master suites with private baths, 4 upstairs bedrooms (that are larger than most master bedrooms) with each pair sharing jack-n-jill bathrooms where each room has its own sink area. A game room with a poker table, foosball table, pool table, air hockey, TV, games, weights, and a treadmill.

    The wrap-around porch is extra deep with a beautiful local view and a pleasure to relax on while sipping wine or having a rootbeer float. The pool has a 30-foot waterslide, a waterfall, and a spa with a pool area bathroom. A propane Bar-B-Queue is also available poolside, in fact the house has 3, one Traeger smoker on the porch, along with a large Propane barbecue, and another propane barbecue located up at the pool.

    Such a magnificent holiday rental; where it will be tough to decide where to enjoy your meals, on-the-porch, poolside or at the dining table that comfortably seats 10.

    Wine tasting abounds on Friday through Sunday and locally we have historic Jackson, Placerville (aka Hangtown) and numerous micro-breweries and vintners. Our favourites wineries are Saluti Cellars in Somerset and Iverson's Vineyard Winery in Fairplay.... and we love the food and the beer at Solid Ground Brewing. Attending a wedding locally? Then, this is the perfect place for up to 12 adult guests. Parking... you could park 20 cars here and have room for more without a problem.

    Do you have a baby or two? Not a problem there are two cots and two high chairs for your convenience.

    Multiple ironing boards and irons. Two full-length mirrors in case a bride or groom want to get a full view before the "I do" moment.

    Note: My wife, I and our Golden Retriever (Ruby) live in the barn-dominium located about 75 yards from the main home. If you need something, we are there to help, otherwise we will leave you to enjoy your stay.

The house was great for the 10 of us. Lots of room, comfortable beds and many useful kitchen appliances. The kids really enjoyed the pool and the TV room. Nice being able to do our laundry. The house was well supplied. Since the house is well off the main road it was quiet and the and the dark sky was wonderful!

We were all extremely impressed with The Hideaway and the thoughtful details that made our stay so easy and comfortable. From the amenities and incredibly comfortable beds to the fully stocked kitchen with every appliance and cooking tool we needed, everything was clearly designed with guests in mind. The property is beautiful both inside and out.Our group ended up being quite large, yet everyone still had comfortable sleeping arrangements. We were in town for a local wedding, so unfortunately, our stay was short, but it was obvious that The Hideaway is perfectly set up for longer visits as well. Our only disappointment was not having more time to enjoy the game room, pool, and all of the relaxing outdoor spaces.Overall, an amazing place that we highly recommend. Matthew was also fantastic—very responsive and helpful with all of our questions...thank you Matthew!

We had a great time! This home is wonderful for parties up to twelve. The host did a great job furnishing and stocking the house. The kitchen in beautiful and has everything you need to prepare all of your meals. Also, there was never a dull moment in the game room or pool and spa. We would definitely book this home again. A big thank you to the host for sharing your home with our family.

Amazing stay for my 50th with the gals

The property is amazing and beautiful. The owner is super nice and helpful. We had 8 women and we each had our own room to sleep in which was great. Stop looking and book this place.

A great family getaway

Beautiful property in remote location. House is well equipped for a large gathering. Plenty of room for time together and time apart. We enjoyed the porches and the peace and quiet of the surroundings.

Delightful time on the hills

The house was very clean and the porch and yard were neat and clean also. Especially delightful were the fire pits on the porch and the fire place in the living room. We highly recommend the HideAway!

2024 Family Vacation

This place is perfect

It's tough to come up with anything that they could do better, honestly. Beautiful property, accommodating hosts, big kitchen stocked with everything you need to prepare large dinners, comfortable beds big rooms. Just a wonderful rental property all around.

Amazing property!

We absolutely fell in love with the Hideaway! We had a small family wedding there and it was perfect! The pool/slide kept the kids busy and the house was the perfect size for us all. April Birthday Celebtration

Our family has four birthdays to celebrate all in the same week! We came to the HideAway to celebrate all together under the same roof. This place has it all! It is spacious, well equipped, beautiful and peaceful. Perfect place for our large family gathering.

Amazing

We rented this property with some friends, and it was so beautiful. The property manager, Judy, is the nicest, most helpful PM we've ever met. She answered questions right away, and made sure that we had everything we needed. 10/10 would stay here again!

Amazing stay!

Our extra large family had an amazing weekend! Plethora of rooms, plethora of beds, and so many bathrooms!!! The entire house is super comfy and everything is accessible and convenient! Hosts are very accommodating as well. We will definitely be returning...as a family and separately!!! Thank you!

Spacious, Peaceful & Private

The HideAway is simply incredible. The property is so spacious & private. The kitchen is very well appointed and has just about everything you could ever need. The bedrooms are big, clean & comfortable. There are many different areas where you can just hang out and relax. I highly recommend this property, and would definitely love to come back when the weather is warmer, to utilize the pool and spa.

Fun Family Reunion

We had 16 members of our family, including my 95-year-old Aunt and her 86-year-old brother, join us at the Somerset house. It was a lovely time with lots of catching up and visiting, good homemade food and visiting on that wide, open porch in the afternoon sun. The ground were beautiful and brought such peace and the hikes to see the Sunset every evening were well worth the effort!

Perfect for large gatherings!

This property was perfect for our annual family vacation (13 adults and 4 kids). We spent the majority of our time at the pool and in hot tub. Everyone young and old enjoyed the water slide. The game room was a big hit at night. The home was spacious enough to gather together as a group but also had plenty of places to hide away and relax as well. I would highly recommend this property.
