"Well first of all the staff was pleasant, helpful and professional. For me the location was excellent with plenty of places to walk, multiple supermarkets within easy walking distance and several place to order good food. Speaking of food, the Beef and Guinness pie served here was excellent. One thing, the car navigation system in the car I leased (a VW Golf Hybrid 8 SE from Europcar) not only couldn't locate the place, in fact it couldn't find Station street in Bangor at all (this has happened several times) so use Google maps for the last 5 miles of your trip as it knows exactly where this Pub is. I'd stay there again."

"When we arrived we had high expectations of the lodge. Unfortunately, it’s not what we experienced. The front door and step was covered in bird poo which just isn’t nice. And it was months old by the looks of it. The main elements of the property were clean. The toilet, shower, sinks etc. however we found over 40 spiders around the ceilings, corners of walls etc. so if you don’t like spiders then this probably isn’t the place. There was old food on the kitchen chairs, cobwebs on the side of one of the sofas, loads of food and other things between sofa cushions etc. we cleaned the property for nearly 2 hours before we were happy to bring our things in. The dust, cobwebs etc. really was something else for the money being spent on a luxury lakeside lodge, even taking into account it is a countryside lodge. We may expect a few creepy crawlies getting in but it was clear the lodge simply hadn’t been cleaned properly for months I would suspect.Someone came the day before we were leaving and without warning or communication just drained the hot tub at about 9.30am. We had promised the kids a hot tub morning so that didn’t go down well as it wasn’t hit again until late afternoon.Apart from those things, the lodge has lovely decor, very well equipped kitchen, a ‘secret’ playroom and plenty of space. The setting is idillic with the lake views. We spotted red squirrel, a kingfisher, many a heron, geese and ducks. Lots of lively wildlife. Towns are close by with all amenities."

"We had a lovely family week at Cartrefle. It’s a beautiful, spacious and very characterful house, with some gorgeous interiors and plenty of room for a large family to spend time together without feeling on top of one another. We particularly loved the traditional feel of the house and its location, which was a great base for exploring Anglesey. Heather was extremely helpful and communicative both before and during our stay, which we really appreciated. Overall we really enjoyed our week and have some very happy memories of our family holiday there."
