Perfect getaway!
My husband and I visited in late October and were so happy we chose this home. The coastal view was unreal and the seals popping up were so special and we got a lot of enjoyment watching the local bird life as well! On a clear night the moon and stars shown so brightly over the water it was incredible. On our last day we chatted with the neighbor who is also the owner and learned some fun information about the house and life on the coast. Please know that the road to get to the house in unpaved and unlit but our mini suv rental handled it just fine. I can’t recommend that stay highly enough!

Horrible Experience
Property location was wonderful, but nothing else was good. We killed over 50 spiders during our stay and when we tried to communicate with the management company we got the run around. We didn't have enough towels for each person for our 4 day stay. House was dirty and had cobwebs and spiders living in each and every corner of the house. The furniture was also covered in webs. There was a vase of flowers that had been dead for awhile and the moldy water was also left.

Cape Cod Charmer
This is a charming cottage right on the water. My husband and I spent 4 nights there in October. Weather was gorgeous, and it was a great base for visiting Cape Cod, Plymouth, Boston and surrounding areas. The road in from the highway is a bit rustic, but worth the effort!

The view was beautiful and the location rustic and charming. The porch was a restful and beautiful place to enjoy the view. Our grand children loved it. That being said…. An innkeeper should know how to put together a bed. The mattress was foam and looked fairly new. A foam mattress needs to be supported by a box spring or platform. There were significant depressions where it was not supported by the few slats that held it up. In addition there was no mattress pad or mattress protector on it… just a thin sheet, which makes me concerned about the cleanliness. I asked about it because of bad reviews and they said they checked on it and it was ok. The kitchen was poorly organized.

25th Anniversary
The property location was an absolutely stunning area. It was peaceful, quiet, and private. The view of the ocean was what we needed to sit back, relax, and enjoy together time. The seals brought so much joy every day, to see them bobbing their heads and frolicking in their environment was priceless. The view from the main bedroom was stunning, especially as the sun rose, again just peaceful and serene. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to family and friends. There were a few easy things to be fixed, that would make a huge difference to the vacationers. Weeding needs to be done, weeds were growing into stairs going to main door, and the weeds growing in front of the deck need to be cut, they were causing many bugs to be flying and crawling around us as we tried to watch the ocean in the evening. The side yard was also overgrown and needed to be weeded and mowed. There needs to be a working clock in the house. The ones that were there had no battery. Lastly the mattress in the main bedroom needs to be replaced... To have a beautiful property like this with a very restless sleep just does not do justice for the renter. With these few fixes this property would be perfect.

Just what we hoped for
Booked this property purely because of the reviews that seals sunbathed on the rocks off the beach. They were there daily - on the rocks or even just visibly swimming by at high tide! Their barking was not bothersome at all. The private drive is very bumpy and single lane but the location was private, quiet, and very scenic. Centrally located to various attractions and towns. Property is somewhat rustic and bathrooms are small. Master bed had a sizable mattress dip but was avoidable. The deck is a little narrow and wish the railing extended all the way around for safety. Overall the experience greatly outweighed what may be perceived as things lacking. Loved it.

Serene with amazing water views.
We enjoyed magnificent ocean views from glassed in porch the most. The one way road to property is a little rocky but no problem with food delivery. The sofa's back was to the Ocean, it be better against the side wall facing the TV to enjoy both. When the tide was out my sister and I loved walking to and from Ellisville National park.

Super quiet and fantastic view
The dirt road is something you really need a truck for, our Lincoln MKZ made it but OMG. The beds were comfortable but the sheets smelled musty. You go for the view and the quietness, we went to visit family in the general area and wanted to stay by the water, which is basically 15 ft from the back of the house. We would stay again. Bring a Keurig if you like your coffee that way.

Wonderful Location!
This house is in a great location, right on the water. There were seals on the rocks at low tide every day and lots of birds and other wildlife to watch. The deck and porch were wonderful! The house was also central to everywhere we wanted to go, but was a nice, quiet escape. The house was accessed by an unpaved, one-lane road but our Subaru did just fine. There is no AC, but plenty of fans were provided and it was always a good temperature. There were a few bugs, flies and a few spiders, but overall it was quite clean. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful view and location. Nice deck and enclosed porch. Kitchen not up to the quality of the rest of the house. Cupboard doors don't close, very unorganized. Dirty dishes and pans. Asked where the gas grill was. No answer for 22 hours. Took laundry downstairs only to find dryer out of order with a sign on it. Part of a long trip so we needed to wash clothes. Had to leave a day early. No offer for any money back from host.

Beautiful little cottage
The cottage has gorgeous views and the relaxing atmosphere was interrupted only by the theater of seals jockeying for rocks which we found entertaining. For days out, good food and activities were never far. Would recommend, but as others have said: make sure your vehicle has the ground clearance and can handle a little offroad to get to the property.

Not what we were expecting!!
After traveling through the Northeast for 7 days and staying in 6 hotels/cabins/B&B, we so were excited to end our finish our trip with a few nights at the cottage. When we arrived, all the doors were open and the house was full of flies. We were notified two days before arrival that the washer was needing repairs, and a technician was scheduled for the day after our arrival. The washer was not repaired, along with no contact from the property manager. We had to spend one day of our stay at the local laundromat washing all our clothes from the beginning of our trip. And, we did not have the ability to wash our towels during the stay. Again, no response from the property manager. I reached out to Vacasa and Vrbo both with no response. On a side note, I did not realize the property did not have any air conditioning, not even window units!!! They provided 4 fans for the entire cottage which was not nearly enough to cool the spaces. This was my error in booking, but I want anyone else booking to be aware!!! The master bed room bed slats were broken and the mattress sunk in many spots. The only full bathroom is on the main level and it is very small. The shower is so tiny you can not turn around while in it. I requested a refund of one day's rent due to the loss of the day spent doing laundry in town. I don't think that is too much to request for the misery of the heat we endured, the musty/stale smell of the cottage, sparsely stocked kitchen, all the flies upon arrival, and no washer.

The location was perfect! I was nervous about the lack of AC but we did not miss it! The breeze from the ocean in combination with the provided fans made it just right. There were a lot of (occupied!!) cobwebs but otherwise very clean. The upstairs bathroom was tight but mostly used for our teens. The view made this house worth it. Omg. Waking up to seals singing and water splashing. The owner, Paul was very kind and Luna, his pup was a joy to play with everytime we came outside. I would recommend this property to everyone wanting close proximity to plymouth, which we visited several times. Along with Boston by train and a whale watching cruise out of hyannis which was within easy driving distance. Thanks for the use of this property so we could make amazing memories with our teens!!

Nice but expensive for what it is
Beautiful ocean view of a renovated house, nice living room/kitchen. Very clean. Awkward layout upstairs- no real door on bathroom right next to other bedrooms? Although recently renovated, no AC or central fan system, so extremely hot in summer in upstairs area. Also not well maintained dirt road with big potholes. Weirdest thing is that they had us buy our own toilet paper even though they wanted special septic toilet paper. Also property not managed by owner but by separate company called vacasa. Wouldn't stay again.

Sweet and Sour
We left this property with mixed feelings. The great things about it, #1 the view! 180 degrees of harbor/ocean was spectacular. The sound of the waves hitting the rocks or the seals barking at each other was true treat. However there was no beach during high tide and to access that beach you needed to go to the neighbors’ yard. The inside of the house was quaint and cute however, the outdated kitchen and bathrooms did not match the price we paid per night. In addition, several outlets were not functional, which made it hard to utilize the fans to cool the place down since it lacked air conditioning. The porch lights did not work so coming home in the dark was problematic. Finally, the one lane entry road was a danger zone to our minivan. We bottomed out 3-4 times while moving at 5 mph. If this property was 1/2 the price we would have been happier. Unfortunately the positives were overshadowed by the negatives.

Solitude with an amazing view
If you are looking for solitude this is a great property. It is off the beaten path - literally. You need to traverse a one-lane dirt / rock road with some bumps along the way and plants brushing up and down the sides of your car, but our minivan handled the route fine. I suggest you arrive during daylight, though, to better navigate the road. We arrived in complete darkness and it was a little taxing to navigate the road. The view of the ocean was great, and we were able to easily access the beach during low tide (no-go for high tide when we were there in July). Saw lots of seals sunning during low tide - was a treat for our kids. Lots of windows to open on all sides of the house to let the breeze in. If you enjoy rustic houses this is a great one. We only had two days in the area but felt we were in a good location to get around easily.

Amazing! If you like quiet and privacy this is the place you want. At low tide the private beach out front is amazing. Ellisville beach down the road is worth the walk it takes to get there. Recommend dinner at the Pilot House in Sandwich. We hope to come back next year!

Relaxing retreat
This cottage is located on the most scenic waterfront. There are beautiful views from all the windows. The gentle waves can be heard hitting the rocks as well as the many seals singing their song. This cottage is tucked away at the end of a secluded wooded drive.The cottage is quaint and has a lot of character.as well as original features. This retreat is for those who love nature and don’t mind a few bugs here or there. It can get a bit warm upstairs as there is no air conditioning.. There are fans provided that help. Overall a lovely home to relax, spend time with family and escape the busyness of everyday life.

Great time viewing the ocean
Loved the view. Very clean and great first impression as we walked in. The drive in was a little disconcerting and confusioning. (Had to turn around once and back up twice) I am glad I chose to drive the forester. I had great talk with the property manager, very polite and professional.

The only thing negative I can say is it does not sleep 5 people. It was me, my mom my 17 yo daughter and 18 son. there was no bed for my mom who cannot walk up and down the stairs. When I booked it showed a futon in the living room. But now there is a couch there. We almost had to book a hotel room. Mom slept on the couch which was not comfortable.

Scenic cottage on the ocean
The pictures are accurate. A quaint cottage literally feet above the crashing high tide waves. Very scenic and romantic. My wife and I had a quiet and secluded weekend, very enjoyable. A previous review complained about the living room sofa, but there is a brand new comfortable one this season. The cottage is secluded and the road out to it (and several neighboring cottages) is 'rustic'. I recommend at least a small SUV. Leave the Toyota Corolla at home for this one. Recommended!

Wonderful seaside getaway
The view can’t be beat! On our arrival we were immediately greeted by our neighbors friendly lab. House was fully stocked with dishes, towels, and sheets. Beds were comfortable. No cable, but the TV is connected to many streaming apps. Sunroom was lovely for morning coffee and afternoon reading. We mainly stayed at the house for most of our time, but ventured out to nearby restaurants for takeout. The house itself is close enough to Plymouth town center and we enjoyed a wine tasting at Plymouth Bay Winery. Overall a great stay! My only complaint would be the seating in the living room area is not very comfortable. The “couch” is a sofa bed and isn’t meant for long term seating.

Stunning view
The rutted dirt road through tall reeds to reach the property is a bit disconcerting, but you will be rewarded at the end of it with 180 degree ocean views and a charming cottage. Beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped (for a summer cottage), lots of great spaces to spread out and read. Fresh breezes and views from everywhere, almost as if one is on a ship. Lots of seals, making crazy seal noises while lazing on the rocks 50 yards out during low tide. Nearby parks great for beach visit, family walks, trail running, etc. Things that could be improved — add house number signage at the right turn near house #41. Bring a knife sharpener, or your own knives. Unclear where to put the garbage — two large recycling bins in the garage but no trash bin. Beach umbrella for the table but no base to sit it in. A previous review mentioned Keurig machine but no pods — these days, there are at least three ways to make coffee here (traditional pot, french press, and Keurig.) So have at it. Great place, we thoroughly enjoyed.

Great getaway
Place was perfect. Beautiful sunrises with seals barking and playing the AM. Only 2 neighbors who were great and otherwise very private, yet a short drive to downtown Plymouth and some great local establishments. Would definitely stay here again!

The Cottage Retreat was an amazing place to spend family time.

Great place to relax
Nice place. Clean. Plenty of room. Living room couch / futon did not provide for comfortable seating. Had to wrestle with the coffee maker each morning. Bathrooms are small. But for a week away from it all, the cottage worked just fine. We enjoyed our stay.

On the Ocean stay
My husband and I spent the weekend with our two-year-old son here. The house is right on the ocean which makes for a beautiful breezes and views. The downside is there is no beach, but a short drive will give you all the beach you would like.I had no direct contact with the property manager, which left for no flexibility with check in time or check out time. Thank goodness it was a cool weekend because there is no AC. The house is very quaint and private. Overall it was a great weekend.

If you want to get away from it all and be right on the water; this is the place to go. It’s before the bridge so much less traffic than the Cape.

Not quite what I expected
I expected this to be an older property but the pictures are a bit out of date. There were a few additional points also - no kettle, no plugs in the sink and the TV didn’t work. The property management company representative listened with empathy but took no action and didn’t respond to any of the feedback given. Overall the area is a little unsafe for kids. The area has a lot of very sharp rocks with barnacles and a storm had washed all the beach away. It seems all of the beachfronts are private so you can’t walk along the shore either without being accosted by neighbors concerned that you are trespassing on their piece of beach. The kids were also too scared to go outside because we encountered a snake just outside the door shortly after arrival. Finally, the bed linens were sandy also so I wasn’t sure if they were washed and changed before our arrival; and there is no BBQ and which is a real shame.
