I think this location gives you good access to nearby areas (Serra Mamede for example) well as the points of interest in Portalegre. We really enjoyed the textile museum. Aida provided us with jams, oranges, and croissants for breakfast. It was a nice stay."

"We spent seven days here in April, 2023. This is a lovely village with everything you might need for a great time. Restaurants were exceptionally good. The people were very nice and outgoing. Many spoke English. Lots of good walking in the area. We'd go back to this area in a heartbeat. If you go don't miss nearby Marvao castle and village. As for the house, there are 38 steep steps from the lower level up to the terrace. The middle flight is steepest and has no handrail. The house is 3 levels...

"Lovely converted watermill, with a working history. Complete privacy in a nature park but still fairly close to Portalegre for services. Nice terraces, a mini swimming pool for cooling down and a refreshing stream. The owners are very welcoming."

"Passámos 4 noites na casa da Oliveira e apesar do frio que se fez sentir a climatização da casa é muito boa e estivemos sempre confortáveis. A walk around the walls and castle of Marvão is thoroughly recommended - marvellous 360 views!"

"The hotel was nothing short of beautiful.The receptionist was very accomidating, nice and helpfull. We had a delicious dinner at the hotel resturant, and on top of the tasty dinner with unique dishes of the area, staying at the hotel will earn you a 10 percent discount at the resturant. The river right next to the hotel was a great and fun place to hangout with family and their was a very easy access to it through the hotel. Would definently recomend a stay here."
