About this property
Secluded large home. Wooded setting. Easy commute to downtown.
*temporary note* I will be re roofing sometime this winter 2025 to summer 2026. I will avoid any work when guests are present, but you may see scaffolding on one portion of the house at a time. *end note*. Fully furnished and decorated, this house is very secluded Victorian on 45 Forested acres built in the 90's perched over a hillside with great views on acreage. Its 6 bedrooms are able to accommodate 12 guests with more space to spread out if needed. There are nearby birdwatching, hiking, and natural areas. Sauvie Island is just a 4 minute car ride away. Heading into downtown Portland for dinner or attractions will take you 17 to 20 minutes door to door in most cases.
•For larger gatherings: •This home is a great place to feel like you're a hundred miles from the city. Very private and quiet. •Most rooms set up with Web TV (ROKU) devices. •Fully stocked kitchen. Bring your own food, replace what you use from the pantry.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire home but for a storage room. This includes the main floor with two suites (own bathrooms), living, dining rooms and kitchen, the second floor with two bedrooms, shared bath, loft, and a third floor tower for storm watching, star gazing, or pretending you're a pretty pretty princess (kids LOVE it). The daylight basement level has a pool table and TV lounge, two more bedrooms, wet bar, laundry, and a family bath.
The Neighborhood
McNamee is a rural street in the hills just beyond Forest Park. The house is set back far from the road. You will have a sense of being nestled in the forest on a perch with a great view Northward.
Getting around
The nearest public transit is the city bus that goes as far as Sauvie Island, just 2 miles short of the house. You will certainly need a vehicle.
For pets: Single pets for shorter term stays. Must not be left unattended

We booked this property for a 12 person family reunion. Ample sleeping, showers, and bathrooms. The large kitchen was awesime, and the outdoor grill a bonus. Awesome views of the mountains was a surprize for my out of town family. The host was great and resolved a small issue we had early on. I'd stay here again.
We loved this house for our family reunion. Lots of room to spread out on 3 levels. Nice outdoor space with beautiful views overlooking the hills and the valley. Spacious, well stocked kitchen. The owner was really responsive. We highly recommend this place.
We loved staying in your beautiful home!! Lots of space for privacy and community! Beautiful views from the balcony and windows. Close to Portland but with the feel of a large home in the woods! We will definitely be back! Thanks so much!!
Everyone in our group loved this house. Its spacious, well stocked with dishes, cookware, towels, etc, very comfortably furnished and has a spectacular view of the Columbia River and Mounts Rainier, St. Helens and Hood. Brian the host was terrific…very simple check in, super responsive and welcoming. If our group gets together again next year, will definitely stay here again!
We loved this place - location, views, tucked into nature but still accessible based on the places we were traveling to from the place as our home base, and Brian the property manager was super communicative & easy to work with. We ended up requesting a late checkout because we needed a bit more time to get our ducks in a row with a few friends leaving at different times and he got back to us within the hour and extended our checkout time to accommodate. Clean property & charming interior. Will definitely stay here again if we have the reason to be in the area!
This three story, 6 bedroom home is located on a hilltop overlooking the Columbia River. We were a group of 15 - adults and kids. There were plenty of beds, several different living spaces which provided multiple options for noisy kids, game loving adults and quiet readers and a huge table for dining. The management was very helpful, quick in response to inquiries yet not invasive. This was our second time staying here and it worked perfectly for us!.
Absolutely loved this property. Most VRBOs feel empty, like a fake movie set but Brian’s rental felt so homey and authentic. The decor was beautiful. Everything was stocked. The place was massive with beautiful, secluded grounds. I felt like a millionaire staying here!! Communication was amazing. Loved everything. 10/10
This place is an oasis that provided an amazing escape for my group of friends from portland. Feels like you’re in another world. Only complaint is a few quirky lack of ammentites: bring your own ice… and no disposal in the sink. Small gripes in the scheme of things. The reviews about the well stocked kitchen (for appliances) wer 100% true. Beds were comfy and lots of towels
The owner met us for check-in. He is gracious and easy to talk to and responsive to questions/requests. Our group of 12 was very comfortable and found ample space to spread out. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of cook/bake ware, cutlery, flatware, various glassware and dishes.
The house is fun to explore with a lighted moon phase graphic built into the dining room floor. It is a very private and quiet location.
6 of us stayed in this Home. Positives are great views, very stocked kitchen, towels and blankets.
For us the furniture is very dated. And knowing the home is in the mountains in a wooded area we understand the spiders just did not appreciate them. Also some areas need a bit more cleaning, i.e. the upper window ledges and floors.
all in all, we enjoyed the stay and the beautiful Oregon landscape.
This property worked great for the 8 of us traveling from the Seattle area to the Portland area for a full week of golf in the region. There are plenty of golf courses within easy driving distance. We brought and cooked our own food, so I can't comment on the nearby eateries, but I've been told there are several nearby. The house is great, with plenty of room for all of us, and the amenities like the pool table and TV room were great. Brian and Kathie were easy to work with. The setting is very secluded, and the views from the turret were worth the effort to climb the stairs.
We stayed at this property with all of my husband's siblings and their spouses. There were six rooms with either a King or Queen bed in them. It was a perfect fit for all of us and we enjoyed the property very much. We even were able to pick some wild blackberries that we enjoyed with some vanilla ice cream. We had no problems with the property. We enjoyed the views from the back porch, but the trees could use a trim for an even better view. I would highly recommend this property if you are in Oregon.
We had an enjoyable stay at this charming home! I recommend this home to all, especially if you have a large group as there is plenty of space!!! Secluded, yet within 15-20 mins to anything you need. The views kick off during the drive in. Our adult kids loved the different floors, especially the basement! Views are gorgeous at any time of day or night. Star gazing is amazing in the back deck too. Lots of sunlight through the windows, yet not a bit cold. The home is very cozy! Open a few windows for a little breeze and outdoor sounds at night. Thank you Brian for being very attentive from the beginning through the end!
Celebrated my Aunt's 80th with family and this was the perfect house. The house is so big! The rooms are spacious, the kitchen is well appointed, and the grounds are well maintained. The turret is even big enough for 2 queen size air mattresses, and the view from it is amazing. My Aunt got the primary, which is so spacious and well appointed. Also has an amazing view. The teens could play pool and goof around in the basement completely out of earshot. Not super close to many things to do in the winter, but we ventured out for dinner, groceries, and a hike.Had a brief issue with internet, but got a very speedy reply when we reached out for help and it was fixed right away.Overall the house and the view were great! Very accommodating for a large group.
A group of us stayed here a few days while in town for a wedding. Its quiet and peaceful. Perfect for the mornings, with a great view, to relax and get ready for our days in the city. Everything we needed to do was no more than 20 to 30 minutes away. We prefer to be away from the city when its time to shut down. Its an older house but clean. Improvements are constantly being made so expect this place to only get better beyond this review. Brian was really friendly and gave good advice on some good tourist places to adventure to. There were no problems to have him attend to but we knew he was there if we needed. They even let us extend checkout after making sure there was not another guest right behind us, very grateful for that!
Very happy with our stay!
