Almond Biscuit - Historic Center Harbor

The sweetest apartment in town!
The Almond Biscuit apartment is on top of one of the oldest Pastry Shops in Porto Historic center - Primar Confectionery (1946) -, where you can have your breakfast included at the price.

It is also part of a restored building dated 1830, classified by UNESCO as World Heritage! It now a completely renovated apartment, keeping the beautiful architecture details that makes the building so special and unique.

Large, charming and sunny space with 50m2. A large bed room and a convertible sofa bed on the living room makes it a comfortable place for 2 where can accommodate 3. Big bathroom. Linen and bed sheets are provide. Kitchen with all the necessary equipment for cooking during a short stay.
Balcony where you can enjoy a fantastic view from one of the most beautiful squares in Porto city, either it's a sunny day or a typical Porto´s fog day!

It is a very central apartment with double glazing Windows but it is possible to have some noise, especially during weekends and city parties.

Free wifi.
Portable speaker that allows listening to music from smart phone, tablet and laptop.


The Almond Biscuit is a charming and beautiful apartment located in the heart of historic Porto city. From the balcony you can admire the famous Lions Square, Carmo Church and Carmelite Church and you can also spot the famous Lello Bookshop on your right. The Tower of Clerics and the Portuguese Center of Photography are on your backside.

The quartier is not only surround by monuments, but also great restaurants, shops and traditional grocery's. A few 5 minutes walking from the Arts quarter Miguel Bombarda and 2 minutes walking from the quarter Paris Galleries full of trendy bars and the heart of Porto night spot. During weekends the quarter is full of street markets where you can find a little of every thing!
You can also take a beautiful 20 minutes walking till the riverside - Ribeira.

Several buses stop, including tourist bus, are just across the street and 10 minutes walking distance from subway and train station Sao Bento.

Loved my stay at the Almond Biscuit! Everything as advertised, perfect location. All 3 nights of my stay it was quite loud outside but that doesn’t bother me. They also do inform you in the listening to be forewarned on weekends. Will 100% return back soon!

Really great apartment that had everything we needed. Comfortable and nice furniture. Excellent hosts with an amazing bakery! This was within walking distance to all the things we wanted to see so the location was perfect. We definitely recommend others to stay!

Historic Porto

Great property in a great location with a great breakfast. Apartment was a bit Spartan: cold when we arrived late at night and no pictures on the walls, but otherwise modern and well equipped. Luis was very helpful and the welcome cookies/ biscuits were much appreciated.

Great place to stay

Almond Biscuit was a lovely apartment close to lots of things to see. It was quiet at night. The breakfast included each day was lovely and it was wonderful to have a place for a snack just below us .

Central location close to everything

The apartment was spotless and well equipped. Great location to walk to all the sites. Only drawbacks were noisy college students very late at night due to university next store but it is a minor blio. Luis & Elisa were easy to communicate with and the breakfast included every morning in their restaurant downstairs was delicious!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, Elisa is a fantastic host. Staff at the bakery below are lovely as well. Very clean and convenient location close to all the major attractions. Would highly recommend during a visit to Porto!!!

Property is in a great central location. We were able to walk to the bus and train station for day trips to Aviero, Braga, Matosinhos and Pinhao in the Douro Valley, which should not be missed. Luis and Elisa are wonderful hosts, would definitely stay again.

Perfect location with exceptional breakfast at the cafe on the premises. The hosts were friendly and accommodating . The apartment was roomy and well equipped with a very comfortable bed. We would recommend this VRBO to anyone traveling to Porto.

Enjoyed very nice comfortable apartment in a location to explore by walking to riverfront churches parks restaurants walked over 7 miles one day you will be very comfortable and the breakfast is wonderful provided with apartment if you have a car be prepared to park underground and paid €25 per day

Ideal location

The apartment looks exactly as the pictures show. If you need an extra bed the owners are happy to provide a comfortable cot. We would definitely stay in the Almond Biscuit apartment again.

Intro to Porto

The only negatives were having to schlep our bags up three flights of stairs and the fact that the code was not properly programed to the door to the apartment requiring several trips up and down those stairs. All else was great.Hosts were gracious and the bakery an added treat! Location was terrific!

The view!!

If you are looking for a perfect view, modern yet authentic, spotless and clean accommodation then I would highly recommended this place. Close to the attractions and hustle of the day, yet quiet at night. Absolutely lovely!

Excellent location and view of the historic “twin” churches. The only downside was the third floor of a building with high ceilings. We would strongly recommend a lower floor if you have substantial luggage or are more senior.

DO NOT PASS THIS UP!!

My wife and I were stayed in this location for 4 days and 3 nights, and we wished it would've been at least double! Luis and Elisa were wonderful hosts, and they also run the pastry / food shop downstairs which was delicious. What an absolute gem this place was. The church across the street was lovely as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Excellent apartment in great Porto area

Wonderful hosts. Beautiful place. Very clean. The bed is comfy. Great shower and blackout window coverings. The bed for the third person is a cot that is for a small child , not good for adult.

Well appointed apartment in fantastic location

We stayed for 11 days in the Almond Biscuit apartment. The apartment a very comfortable home base for our adventures in Porto. We would start off each day with a wonderful breakfast provided Confeitaria Primar. The Apartment is very well situated with lots of restaurants/bars in the immediate area. The rest of the city is a 15-20 minute walk away. I can't recommend this apartment enough. When we go back to Porto, we will certainly stay here again.

Awesome Apartment in a great location

The apartment was very nice and just as pictured. The church across the street was an amazing view. The unit is in a pastry shop which is downstairs, which is owned by the same people. The hosts were delightful!! Each morning you get to go down and have breakfast. Yum! We would not hesitate to stay here again, loved it. Thanks!

Gem in a wonderful area

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The view from our windows was amazing. There were so many options for dinners and as an added bonus breakfast was included in our stay. Breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed sitting outside on the Primar patio every morning with our coffee. The actual unit was beautiful with high ceilings and great features. Transit was just outside the front door and the tram stop was outside the back. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Everything is as advertised except the Murphy single bed has become a comfortable sofa…4 feet long…making it hard to have 3 people. VRBO ad should be changed. Otherwise, just excellent..clean, safe, well equipped. Easy for us to recommend to a couple.

Birthday Get Away

We loved the Almond Biscuit apartment. It is right across the street from a beautiful church which was lovely to look at. The description said that there is a bed in the living room,if you are needing a bed for a third person contact the property manager ahead of time to request that one be placed in the until. It was a roll away cot but very comfortable. When we visited the bakery down stairs was closed for remodel which was said but didn't change how lovely the stay was. Getting to the shopping and restaurant areas as well as the waterfront is an easy walk from the apartment, but be prepared for some steep roads. The apartment had everything we needed and is in a perfect location to explore Porto. We would book the apartment again.

Picturesque Porto

The Almond Biscuit apartment was absolutely perfect, comfortable and truly picturesque with the balcony view of the church, the square and the bustling activity all around! The entrance stairs from the bakery to the third floor showcased the beauty of the restored interior; a unique entrance to our experience in Porto staying over the bakery Primar. It is a perfect location for staging walking trips around the city. Luis and Elisa are superb hosts and very attentive to the needs of the guests as they run their busy bakery. Treats, pastries and breakfast were yummy and the basket left at the door on Saturday night, a lovely breakfast picnic for Sunday! Looking forward to returning to Porto and staying here again!!

Wonderful stay!

Great central location for walkability. A very large apartment with A/C! Having the bakery downstairs with included breakfast was also amazing and the portion size was so generous! Only element to keep in mind, it IS centrally located with nearby late night restaurants and bars so especially on weekend nights, it can be noisy till 2am but, even so, it just felt authentic to the city so just bring ear plugs or a sound machine if you're a light sleeper.
