Very centrally located in Porto. Located right next to the beautiful Crystal Palace Park. Room was comfortable and the free mini bar was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed the free coffee. Only downside was that there was street noise. So if quiet is important, just be aware!

Dear Nigel,Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments.We are sorry to see that you rated your stay so lowly. Unfortunately the three negative points that you mentioned are all included in the listing information. The size of the room which is 19sqm + private patio was available to you at the time of the booking. In all objectivity it is quite a big room if you compare with the standard in Europe which is 15 sqm. We are talking almost a third bigger than standard.We do not have a coffee machine in the rooms. But you had a coffee machine just outside of your room at a distance of exactly 3 metres. Not to mention that you had unlimited free coffee and tea, which usually is appreciated.You private patio had indeed walls on the side. Clear pictures of it were available at the time you made the booking as every room in our property is unique and the room you book is the room you get.We can only correspond to the expectations which are within the limits of the product you book and get.We are thrilled to hear that you appreciated the service that you received.We will make sure that your next experience with us deserves a higher review

My absolute favorite thing about the Utopian, besides the beautiful room that looked exactly like the photos but better, besides the complimentary coffee and snacks provided, and besides the walkable distances to most of the recommended sights of the city, was the park that is only a few steps away! We began each day with a stroll through the Crystal Palace gardens alongside the chickens and peacocks. We ended each day with a gorgeous view of the sunset there as well. The Utopian was fantastic! Our room fronted a busy street and was a bit noisy, but with the windows and shutters closed it was not bad at all.

Utopian Luxury Boutique Residence is really nice. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, very modern yet classy. This hotel is a renovated old General’s quarters. Many rooms several levels. Be aware lots of stairs, challenging for those with big suitcases and mobility challenged. Back then, the more rooms in a house the richer you looked. Area is perfect, across from the Palacio do Cristal, which is also on the hop-on-off bus Redline. You can walk to several sites and the Douro River. Some good eateries around the corner, a classic burger place and a nice restaurant called Xao Laura, serves roast beef sandwiches and steaks. The staff and attention to the customer is above and beyond. I highly recommend this hotel. Try to get a low floor though.

LOVELY APARTMENT ON BUSY STREET
Great location with easy accessibility to the olde city & waterfront restaurants. Lovely comfortably decorated apartment on a noisy street. Strangely Coffee/ espresso & tea machine was located in stairwell between 2nd & 3rd floors; hence guests had to exit their suites to get a hot drink! A kettle / offer machine in ea h apartment would raise the standard rating dramatically !

Lovely room with incredible staff!
We had the best experience at Utopian! Sandra, the Manager, was super accommodating and welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be. The rooms were super clean and exactly as pictured in the photos (though a little smaller, but nothing that prohibited comfort) and the bathroom was incredibly spacious and well-lit. The hotel is also very conveniently located and we were able to walk to most of the things we wanted to do.

Great location, small boutique, hotel, beautiful
What a great find those places! An old building that has been refurbished, and a most excellent and caring way. We ended up having two different rooms and we’re just thrilled with both of them so nicely appointed and I always have to say that I am very happy when I find a hotel that offers a make up mirror sounds like a little thing, but it isn’t at my age! The staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Definitely a keeper
Clean. Luxury bed and bedding. Great shower with lots of hot water. Nice touch on free snacks. We’re on ground floor and it was pretty noisy with the front door automatically slamming shut and people coming and going but hotel provided ear plugs and we slept really well.

Surprisingly updated modern, spacious and well-appointed room in an old building. Only draw-back: lots of stairs to upper floor, but, thankfully, well air-conditioned room. Comfortable bed, very nice sitting area and bathroom. Really liked the policy of free mini-bar. Only suggestion: provide coffee machine/tea kettle in room, not on lower level. Host very solicitous and helpful at all times. Would definitely recommend for anyone who can handle stairs!

The best stay during my visit to Portugal across 4 other accommodations. Incredibly stylish and comfortable property. Helpful and communicative staff who helped us with how to arrive from airport, luggage storage and restaurant recommendations. Less than 10 mins walk from the centre. Perfect - stay here!

Quaint little apartment building a little above the center of town. Very clean and spacious. Beds were five star and so was the shower. It is a hike up to the room in wooden stairs. And the room is a bit loud but you have to accept that for being in the city and great location. Snacks and water were waiting for us in the room. Lovely.

The property has an abundance of character and charm. It is the product of obvious passion and hard work as the old building has been uplifted to become a comfy, modern sanctuary. It’s homey, contemporary and functional. It’s only about a 15-20 minute downhill walk to the river and is close to many important sights to see as well as a hop on hop off bus stop. 10/10 would recommend this stay and cannot wait to be back. Also a great value.

We were very happy to stay here. Very hip accomodation. Good location! 25m from a busstop (601) to the airport. The ventilation unit should/could work A bit harder, as we experienced some 'mist' and semi-moist-clothing after A shower. Furthermore, 👍

Very clean and well equipped such as iron, mini bar, AC. Room was very cute and pretty and close to walk to the main old town. Since it is right on the main road and near bus stop, a little bit noise in the early morning but not bothering for sleeping. Definitely worth for money!

La habitación era súper pequeña, nos encontramos que el frigo no funcionaba y no tuvimos solución por lo tanto los fiambres que habíamos comprado debimos tirarlos

Estimado Dian,Gracias por haberse quedado en Utopian.El cuarto que reservaron es el más pequeño que tenemos (14 m2) y por tanto el más económico. El resto de nuestros cuartos son más grandes. En todo caso en nuestra página web pueden encontrar las medidas y especificaciones de cada cuarto antes de reservar.En cuánto al minibar tuvimos efectivamente un problema técnico con el minibar de su cuarto durante su estadía y siendo una empresa externa que se ocupa de la reparación no conseguimos que vinieran a tiempo. La unidad ya fue reparada.Esperamos verlos pronto de nuevo!

Flott hotell nært sentrum av Porto. Trivdes veldig godt her! Pluss at det er gratis minibar. Bra Wi-Fi. Badet var veldig bra og rent. Spesielt likte vi dusjen. Lys og fint rom. Det er noen interessante restauranter i nærheten av hotellet som absolutt er verdt et besøk!
