Fabulous cottage

Exceptional accommodation. Finished to a high spec, this is a lovely home from home. It exceeded our expectations and was a perfect base to explore Skye from.

The house is superbly equipped and modernly furnished. There is no traffic as the house is at the end of a small path right on the seafront. But the best feature is the view over the bay of Uig and the harbour.

Our stay was beyond incredible. Ascrib's View had everything we could need and want. It was seemingly recently renovated, exceptionally clean, and perfectly beautiful. The view was unmatched, and the location was great for going in any direction. Highly recommend.

Ascrib’s View is a gem. Strongly recommend to anyone visiting Skye. It’s nice to be away from the bustle of Portree, while still being close to many activities. We enjoyed hiking the Quirang and Fairy Pools, and had an amazing speed boat safari with Isle of Skye Seafari in Portree. The cottage is peaceful and clean, with modern fixtures, a full kitchen and incredible views. Billy and Helen were very easy to communicate with and were very responsive. They also squeezed us in for a booking at the restaurant at their hotel around the corner. It’s a great place to come back to at the end of the day, and a perfect base camp for exploring the island and relaxing.

The hosts, Anne and Billy, messaged us beforehand with helpful recommendations on places to visit in Skye, which was much appreciated. The accommodation had everything we needed – it was clean, tidy, and very welcoming. The views from both the bedroom and living room windows were absolutely beautiful. Fairy Glen was just a few minutes’ drive away and definitely worth a visit. We stopped at the Co-op in Portree for some food, but found it quite expensive. Rankin’s, which was only a few minutes from where we were staying, is a better option in our opinion—I'd recommend shopping there instead. Just a heads-up: since the accommodation is out in the countryside, the lane leading up to it has quite a few potholes, so take care when driving.
