VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE
I was very pleasantly surprised . I loved the decor and all the books. I was unfortunate to accidently break a beautiful picture in the bathroom, I felt so bad about it, I instantly called and let them know what happened, told them I would be more than happy to pay for it. Was so suprised was told not to worry about it. I love this place and would deffinatly recomend it to anyone who looks into i.

Classy Historic Treat
The Prairie Rose exceeded our expectations. The wonderful 1887 historic house had modern kitchen and bathrooms plus air conditioning. It was perfectly located for our activities of visiting the John Day Monuments and exploring the area. We loved our stay!

My review
The house is large and has all the amenities but it wasn’t as clean as should be expected. I wasn’t crazy about having to change the sheets because I feel like I am depending on the prior renters to change their sheets as well so it was a little weird for me. But all in all it was a good trip and and it was comfortable.

There was lots of space for us to spread out and this home was very well stocked. The owner was very communicative and even told us about a fireworks display happening while we were there. We had a great time!

Stay in a bit of Prairie city history
This was the second time our family has stayed in the Prairie Rose. It’s a beautiful, historic 19th century home, well equipped and organized. Jannet and her husband have owned the property for 27 years, and they obviously have put a lot of love and work into maintaining it. They are both very gracious and great communicators.

Spacious and Relaxing
Large, clean house with plenty of living and dinning space, as well as various bedroom options. The kitchen is fully stocked with baking and cookware if you wish to prepare your own food. A full-sized fridge with freezer is also available. Our family of eight had a very refreshing stay on our travels across Oregon.

Perfect small town getaway
This house was amazing. We loved the old fashioned charm and attention to detail with the decor. It's also very close to the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness, which is what we came to explore. We'd love to return soon!

A Rose🌹 Without Thorns
We are three friends of over 50 years who get together annually. The Prairie Rose fit our needs very nicely. Jannet has done a wonderful job decorating the house and providing lots of thoughtful touches that made us feel at home.🏡 Highly recommend!

Fantastic Property
The house is adorable. The home was clean and very well appointed. It was spacious and very comfortable for six of us including three generations! The owner made herself available to answer questions and was very accommodating.

Beautiful place
The Prarie Rose Home in Prarie City is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. It is a very relaxing place ro stay. You should note that most all businesses are closed on Sunday in Prairie City and plan accordingly.

Spacious country home in an incomparable setting
The Prairie Rose Guesthouse offers ample room for multiple guests, is filled with thoughtful touches and is thoroughly provisioned with all necessities. The views of the Strawberry range from the front porch are stunning and the town itself is quaint and welcoming. We hope to be back for a longer stay next time.

Roomy & relaxing stay
The house is great - built in 1889, but has all the conveniences one would want in a vacation rental. It was cozy and comfortable. Although it has a 4 bedrooms, there are only 2 bathrooms, so it works well for 2 families. The host has thought of all the amenities to make your stay relaxing and welcoming.

The host, house, garden, town, and nearby hiking are what makes this a great place to stay. House- it is up to date while keeping old-world charm. It comfortably fit our family of seven. Jannet is a great hostess. We felt welcomed and all our needs were met. Garden- Lounging on the hammock, porch swing, lounge chair, wherever! Our family loved reading outside in the colourful garden. Town- The town was quiet and quaint. There are good food options, but be aware that most of the restaurants are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Hiking- Strawberry mountain was gorgeous. It was not crowded at all; slightly challenging; beautiful lake. We love this place.

The home was lovely. Thoughtfully decorated, well equipped and organized. Jannet was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to my needs. Small town 4th of July.
My mother grew up in Prairie City. We brought 4 generations to celebrate her 87th birthday. Small town 4th of July celebration complete with parade, gold panning and fireworks. The home was perfectly furnished with antiques and vintage peaces. Kitchen was well stocked. Everyone from the birthday girl to the 7 year olds had a wonderful and memorable time. We will be back for birthday #90!

Our family stayed here May 2019. The house was completely stocked with anything you might need. The owners were so accommodating to all our needs they live just adjacent to the rental so they are easy to get in touch with. Spacious- plenty of room for both privacy and gathering Anticipated every comfort with very specific labels in kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room. Items were not pristine but were all functional.Thoughtful and generous! A historic home, so a bit creaky and a little dusty. Lived in space, so more like staying at a home than a hotel. Excellent view of sunset - inside or out Wrap around porch with a porch swing and lots of seating. Easy walking distance to town attractions. A wonderful stay!

Our group of friends cycled in the John Day valley for a few days and really enjoyed the clean, well-stocked, air conditioned (!) home in the main part of Prairie City. The house was comfortable and big enough for the friends who were camping at the local campground to come over and enjoy meals with the whole group. Thank you!

Wonderful family reunion!
The house is the perfect size for the 8 of us. It is clean, comfortable and well-equipped with all the necessary household items. We spent most of our day time at other locations visiting family, but the morning and evening quiet time was great in this rental house. The Prairie Rose is located right on Front street in Prairie City and within walking distance of dining and groceries and shopping.

Beautiful home, the decor is amazing, giant kitchen great for gathering in, great veranda, beautiful view, lots of room to both spread out for some quiet time or gather together for meals, fun or games. A Prairie Retreat
The family came from Scappoose, Boise, and La Pine anticipating a great visit with close and extended family in the area. We were NOT disappointed. The house was perfect and more than we anticipated. It had a refined Prairie Spirit; warm, welcoming, homey atmosphere. The town is low keyed, friendly, and very enjoyable to visit. We will definitely return sometime.
