Great stay. Received emails from host, had no issues. Only minor problem is the towel rack in one bathroom was poorly installed and I had to fix it while I was there and it fell off. Easy fix as they had a flathead screwdriver on-site. I appreciated the host not sending too many emails/texts and only what I needed.

In the condo, you will find all the amenities needed for cooking (if you so wish). There is a Foodland that is a 4-minute drive from this location. Everything else was very nice & clean. However, if you want someplace nice & quiet, this might not be best for you. The neighbors were boisterous with their children. However, I didn't mind it. All in all, I would stay here again if I had to. A++

Property needs work, great location

Beautiful gardens and amazing location. The unit itself needs work. We arrived to a leaking sink in the kitchen, walls crumbling in several places, kitchen cabinet handles missing or falling off on about half the doors, particle board furniture in master bedroom being eaten away by tiny ants. Management was very responsive and had a general willingness to fix issues, but some of their answers were inaccurate (like telling me to look for things in a cabinet that doesn’t exist or not saying where exactly to find the crib even though I inquired ahead of time - had to make do without one for two days until someone could come and find it (or bring it in, not sure it was even there if a desperate mom couldn’t find it!)). There was also no dust pan for several days despite my multiple requests, which led to a maggots infestation and eventually to swarms of flies. All this made the stay rather stressful. The AC was nice to have, and the bathrooms were very clean and in good order, thank goodness.

Great Stay Overall

This was our second time renting a VRBO in Kauai and we enjoyed our stay at Pumana. The only hiccups we had were a miscommunication about parking and there were a bit more little ants than we expected. We made an effort to keep the kitchen countera clean, but there were little ants regardless. To be expected in a tropic climate, especially with the louver windows. The living room A/C and fans worked great. I can't speak for the master bedroom as we stayed in the green room, but the A/C in the smaller bedroom had a hard time keeping up despite it being a smaller room. Enjoyed using the washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen (could use more food storage containers and baggies/foil/plastic wrap), and the beach and snorkel supplies. We also were bummed that there was no jacuzzi at Pumana, but definitely not a deal breaker for the price and experience. Got to experience lots of wildlife outside our door including chickens, Kane frogs, gecko/lizards, and cats. Thanks for having us!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed 5 nights (Nov. 4-8) at Kahuna Puamana 25A. We have stayed in many rentals over the years, and consider ourselves tough, but not snooty, reviewers. With 10 being perfect, our rating of 9 means nearly perfect. We agree with the comments of many previous reviewers that gave high ratings. The more one knows in advance (e.g., the age of the unit), the better are one’s expectations. We much prefer a “local” look and feel wherever we stay, and 25A was ideal for us. Our experience was wonderful and we would stay here again. Minor matters included none of the air conditioner filters being clean, kitchen window vane open/close mechanism needing repair, and a beach chair damaged by rust corrosion. With two vehicles (one with disability placard), parking was paramount for us, yet we were never able to get a clear understanding of what parking options were available beyond the one assigned parking space. The best we knew from property management was some visitor spaces at the nearby pool, and no placard spaces “by the pool or anywhere else in the parking lot.” Fortunately this information was not fully accurate. Upon arrival we learned there were visitor spaces near the 4 spaces allocated for Building 25, and there was a placard space at the pool, and one further away near Building 18. We strongly recommend (1) the Puamana Kauai map of the buildings be updated to show the location of placard spaces, (2) the VRBO website for 25A be updated to clearly state the renter’s parking space is any one of 4 parking spaces allocated and marked for Building 25, and (3) the VRBO website for 25A also be updated to clearly state there are visitor parking spaces along the roadway leading to Building 25. This is basic, convenient information that should be available in advance rather than through discovery or inquiry with owner or property management.

Beautiful cozy property with comfy beds

Loved the cozy beds, a/c, and laundry in unit. North shore is beautiful. Wish it wasn’t such a drive back into town on the east and south shores, but no matter what you’re still only 1.5 hours or less from almost everything on the island. We had a wonderful week in Kauai.

Overall great layout, had everything and then some for a week… could use more forks, there were only a half dozen or so, all the wall bottles in the bathrooms were empty. Home was great! However getting there was not, there was a very long skinny uphill pathway from parking, just gravel and dirt, they were replacing the sidewalks. A heads up from the management would have been appreciated, we had large roller bags that were useless because no concrete! Had to make many trips back and forth carrying in dirt. I hope for future renters they have this fixed. Just would have appreciated communication with this

Bliss found in Princeville, Kauai

Being so anxious to enjoy the island, we approached the condo with crossed fingers. Never to worry- it was perfect! The location and interiors were as listed. The amenities matched our needs and Jana, the owner, was wonderful. She was patient as I asked many questionsand proved to be a great resource. Nice place on the North Shore

We enjoyed our stay. The property is nicely furnished. There was everything that you would need. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of square footage. The only negative I can find is that the pool seemed small. The fact is that the North Shore has so much to see and do, that we never used the pool. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Tips: If you want to park at Ke'e Beech or hike the trail, you must pre-pay for a parking space on line and they sell out fast. Check the park's website.
