"If you are searching reviews in order to make a decision, STOP, and book this place. Great host. Wonderful, quiet location, comfy bed. Perfect place to stay while passing through town or staying to explore the Hilo side of the island. Highly recommend this host and will be back!"

"This hotel is more like a rental house than typical hotel. There are only eight or so rooms and each one has nice views with privacy. There is no staff on site but you can contact them is needed. I would stay here again. One thing to consider, you are 30 minutes from most services. If you don’t mind that and want something quiet this is a great option."

"Hilo House is a wonderful Hawaiian property! In and outdoor cooking facilities are excellent, great breakfast spots both in and out, sleeping arrangements are plentiful. It's hard to believe the house is as close to town that one can actually walk there."

"Flies in the barn was an extreme nuisance. Uncut grass from cabin 5 to the barn was annoying. The falls was a amazing. However, be extremely careful if you take the short hike because the uneven rocks is a challenge especially if it rain (9 out 10 times it'll rain). Despite that, Jordan, Abby, & Cady (not in order) was top of line from hospitality, interaction, professionalism, tidiness, etc. & they wasn't ugly :-)"

"We spent 3 nights at this unit and found it extremely spacious for two people, very well-equipped, clean, detailed instructions and excellent lists of restaurants, places to visit, and museums. It is less than a 15 minute drive to downtown Hilo. We had visited Hilo before and since this time we had rainy weather, we visited three museums: Mokupapapa Discovery Center, Lyman Museum and Iamoli Planetarium. They were all excellent. One restaurant we recommend is Moon and Turtle, sit at the bar, and enjoy a wonderful meal. We would return to this unit with no hesitation."
