We just returned from four nights at Marquis Los Cabos, celebrating our anniversary, and it was outstanding — largely because of the staff. We upgraded to a casita (the upstairs level), and one afternoon the staff carried our lunch all the way up to the rooftop pool so we didn't have to leave the water. That kind of thoughtfulness continued all week — the team recognized us at the restaurants and checked in about food allergies without us having to ask twice. Pergola, the Italian restaurant, was our favorite meal of the trip. Great food, but the setting sealed it — right on the water in the evening, waves in the background. Breakfast was another highlight every single morning. As expected, we skipped swimming at the beach — the surf there is rough, so we stuck to the pool, which was excellent. But we spent a lot of time just watching the ocean. The waves were unusually dramatic during our stay, and on our last night the moonlight lit them up so vividly it looked like the water was on fire. Five stars, easily. If you want a resort where the staff genuinely makes the trip, this is it.
