Absolutely Wonderful!
This was our family’s second time camping here, and definitely not our last. It was perfect for our family of 4. Great fishing spot on site and animals to feed. The kids took advantage of the play set and trampolines, as well. Very peaceful and such beautiful scenery. This is by far our family’s favorite camping place! They had everything we needed in the cabin. Ms. Kay was very quick to answer any questions we had and even brought us fresh chicken eggs. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to go back!

A Nice Little Getaway Place
Loved the landscape with great privacy. The cabin had everything you needed for the stay. Great climate control both for cold and warm days. Stan was great and loved Bo the dog. Glen Rose was a friendly place with good places to eat. Caution most restaurants closed by 3:00 pm. The area definitely embraces that this was an area where dinosaurs walked. Hope to visit again. Thank you for having us.

Eclipse 2024
We had a great time at Kay and Stan’s place. We lucked out with great weather, spent lots of time on the front porch or the meadow across the driveway. Stan treated us to fresh eggs and Kay came by with Moon Pies the morning of the eclipse (😁). Well appointed, plenty of ways to keep cool. We’ll be back.

We wanted to get away for a few days to a cabin not far from home. It was wonderful. So peaceful on top of the mountain. The River was easy to get to. The whole property was beautiful. We really enjoyed it and the fresh eggs. Hope to come back

Perfect Getaway
We really enjoyed this property, it is really nice with stunning views. The cabin is really tiny, but comfortable enough. Unfortunately, I injured myself the week before our trip so we were not able to walk around or check out the river. We hope to go back again one day and hike around and enjoy some time on the river. The road up to the cabin was a bit of a challenge for my little Lexus sports car, it had to engage the traction control in a few places going up the hill. LOL. We probably should have brought our truck instead.

Just like a tiny home it has everything you need. Enjoying the quiet and you can enjoy just staying here and cook out. We enjoyed our stay so much that we already want to come back. The owners are very nice and welcoming as well.

Great Place!!
This is our second time staying on the property. Last time we stayed in the other cabin. This cabin is just as good or better depending on your perspective. The view is great from the porch; and very quiet. Everything you could need is all right here. Throw a steak on the grill; relax on the porch; enjoy the evening and night. Check in/out is simple. The owner is fantastic as well! We will be back.

It's a small cabin, but the layout maximizes the space. It was clean, inviting, warm, and well maintained. The property owner was responsive. We enjoyed the property, including feeding the animals in the pasture. It's worth noting the twin bed listed in the living room is a couch, but it worked for us.

Great Getaway
Absolutely amazing. The directions to the place were great. No trouble at all in finding it. Nice and quiet with a beautiful view. I recently lost my husband so getting to spend some down time with my best friend at the cabin was just what we needed. We explored Grandbury during the day and actually got to enjoy a nice thunderstorm that rolled in. I would highly recommend trying this beautiful place out. My friend and I have decided to make this our go to place as often as we can.

Nice getaway
It was what I expected. Except for there being another cabin right beside us. Just because it was my daughter and I and we were in the middle of the ranch. Under the beds didn’t seem to be swept but other than that the rest of the cabin was very clean.

Did not realize a house and another cabin was very close to cabin.It was not mentioned online. Trees so thick there was no view of river valley and when we walked through trees there was a sand pit and heavy equipment. Very disappointed. We did not stay our 2nd night.

There is a tree line on either side of the cabin. The larger house is quite a distance away and cannot be seen from Valley View Cabin. The smaller cabin is only slightly visible through the trees. As far as the view of sand excavation and heavy equipment, there is absolutely nothing we can do about what happens on other's property. However, there is minimal (if any) noise associated with the excavation. We are sorry if this guest was disappointed.

Great for weekend get away
We enjoyed our stay - came down for a baseball tournament - the kids enjoyed staying in the cabin and being out in the woods! The kids definitely wanna come back and next time go to dinosaur state park. We will be back!

Check in was a breeze and owner was very prompt with responses. Cabin was just like the pictures. Cozy. We loved the swings and the view. Mattresses were a little uncomfortable but we would stay here again without question! Great location.

Easy Fixes Would Make This Top Notch
As experienced VRBO customers, we understand snagging a place that checks off all of the must haves/needs, last minute, is near impossible. We had to pivot from staying in our RV to a VRBO last minute (literally the day before our planned departure) so I'll start by saying we were happy to find Valley View! Its a great little cabin tucked away from the sights and sounds of the big city but still close enough to civilization that it isn't a hassel to run an errand or grab a bite to eat. The cabin itself is quaint, a 14x34 foot prefab cabin that would fit a couple or maybe family of four just fine, but was a tight fit for our family of five (two kids under 5 and a pre-teen). We found the communication and check-in to be hassle free, which was much appreciated after a late start and a three hour drive with three kids. The cabin wasn't overly clean; we noticed dust on fan blades and door frames and the living area rug appeared to have been swept but perhaps not vacuumed, as there were small pieces of random debris stuck in the pile. The kitchen appeared well appointed, though we ate most of our meals on the go. Seating and space was very limited in the living area. A sleeper sofa/futon would probably have offered a better solution to seating, than the twin bed, without taking away a bedding option. The beds themselves were awfully firm and extremely squeaky, so much so, we would wake each other up rolling over or getting in/out of bed. I'd put new beds/mattresses in the budget for this year! Aside from the discomfort of the beds (the kids even complained), heating and cooling was a major issue. It was warm during the day so we utilized the bedroom ceiling fans which kept us comfortable but by evening when the temperature dropped we never could regulate the heat. The two Mitsubishi wall units seemed to compete with one another, with only one working at a time, so we had to alternate heating the master room vs the living area. We read the manual, but saw no work around or improvement. There was no mechanism to heat the second bedroom other than an electrical space heater, in a room with two windows, one of which had a window AC unit so it was very drafty. Had we known the cabin didn't have central heat/air we would've packed differently and brought some reinforcements from home. We made do but certainly weren't comfortable. All in all, with a few easy fixes this little cabin could be top notch!!

Great little cabin with a few improvements needed.
Nice location, quiet and peaceful. Easy check in. Cabin is really cute, comfortable beds, ceiling fans and air worked great. Enjoyed sitting on the porch and walking the property. Cabin floors and kitchen, refrigerator needed to be cleaned. Well water smelled like rotten eggs so bring your own drinking water. Needed additional seating that was comfortable.

From the owner: "Brandy, thank you for staying with us. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay. - Our cabin floors are vacuumed and mopped between each guest stay. The cabin sits in an isolated wooded area and it's possible that leaves, etc blew in as the guests were unloading their car. We check with our housekeepers, but we correct this issue and we will try to be more diligent about the floors. - The refrigerator is wiped out routinely between each guests stay. We do leave bottles of mayo, mustard, ketchup in the 'frig - all in-date - for the guests to use if they'd like. Perhaps that is what she was referring to. (Also possible that we might have missed a spot, so we will look into and correct this if need be!) - There is a day-bed in the living area - with back pillows. Typically, guests appreciate the extra sleeping space, and no one has ever complained about it. There is also a recliner. We might consider swapping out a sleeper sofa for the day bed in the future. We appreciate your feedback and will be using this feedback to rectify these issues in time for our next guests visit."

Overall this was a great vacation and a great spot to stay. Pros : quiet area, nice property, friendly, easy river access. Cons: ( might be nit picking) cleanliness of the rooms could have been a little better ( fans and under the beds were dirty), couldn't get rid of the sulfur taste in the water, pictures were deceiving as far as where the water was from this cabin. Other then that there was no complaints and in the grand view of it all these cons were minor. The fresh eggs and peacefulness made up for it. Wouldn't mind going back again.

Spring Break Reprieve
The house is small but cozy with lots of ground to explore. We used this as a launch point for various activities in the area. Its quiet and away from the bustle of tourism that soaks Glen Rose but close enough to make it to all the attractions without any fuss. It was early in the season for our visit so we did not get to canoe/float the river, but did explore the rocky banks one evening. We are a family of 5 so the fit was a bit tight for us, but we made it work...the kids were so exhausted from all of the various activities their sibling squabbles were minimal.

Great little rustic cabin near Glen Rose
We stayed for two nights at this property in Rainbow Texas which is near Glen Rose. The cabin is cozy and comfortable and in a lovely setting on top of a hill overlooking the Brazos River below. There are also longhorns, donkeys and other animals that live in a fenced area behind the cabin which added to the charm of the place. There are a few trails that go through the woods and down to the River that can be used by guests. While my communications with the owner of the property were mainly through email, she was very kind and responsive. The cabin comfortably fit me and two other family members plus my small dog. I should also mention it is the perfect spot for those who like star gazing. I brought my telescope and my camera and got some nice shots of the moon and the Orion Nebula. I highly recommend this rental if you are looking for a place to stay that is close to Granbury and Glen Rose. It's rustic but comfortable, which was exactly what I was looking for.

Enjoy the quiet yet close to Dinosaur Valley State Park, Dinosaur World, Big Rocks and downtown Glen Rose. Kids loved seeing their animals and petting the friendly dog plus played a bit on the swing set. First timer using VRBO and didn’t see where the gate code was sent. A quick phone call handled that. Bonus: half a dozen farm fresh eggs!

Leaving the busyness behind!
This is the 2nd time we've stayed at Kay & Stan's & look forward to coming back! The cabins are always extremely clean, everything is furnished & it is so nice to get away from it all! We love staying here overnight, as opposed to a hotel on a busy highway & the night sky never disappoints! Great communication & you couldn't ask for better hosts! Looking forward to our next night with them & hopefully it is not an overnight stay but a true vacation!!!

Grandsons were in HEAVEN!
What a wonderful, relaxing, fun time I had with my 2 grands, ages 8 and 9! the owners were so very kind! They allowed us to feed their longhorn Cattle, and to walk and enjoy the land around us. The boys loved the BIG swings that were there to play on too. We met their BIG dog, Bob, and my boys fell in love! haha The kind owner brought us a dozen fresh eggs from their chickens and 1/4 of a watermelon from their own garden! Everything you need is there except for your groceries....So relaxing and fun! We WILL go back!! Thank y all so much for your wonderful hospitality.!! : )
