Handlery Hotel

8/10 Good

"We stayed for 4 days and one of the days our room was not cleaned. There was also construction going on in the parking lot next to our room and the workers were using noisy machinery outside our window/room at 7:30am in the morning. Also an alarm for the entry door went off due to a battery that needed replaced at 6:30am in the morning. The staff were apologetic but this was our vacation and we wanted to sleep and come back from our meeting to a clean room."

"Unique hotel with a lot of nightlife! This felt like an adult playground. Explicit house music on at the pool, rooms with lot of alcohol and lots of bars. Not as much access to small bites after hours except in the diner where that menu was small. No food in lobby bar or jazz club. We walked around the neighborhood to see what else we could enjoy, but only found resturants. Loved Chance's coffee next door! We saw a few kids there, but I wouldn't bring kids under 21 there. My 21-year-old son was with me and agreed. Fun experience!!!"

Ocean Beach Hotel

"Love this small hotel and the fact that it is directly across from the beach with nothing between you and the ocean. About 30 steps to the sand and sea and right at the heart of all the action of bars, dining, shopping and absolute fun. Only wish is that the rooms had microwaves but, plenty of hot food and hot/cold drinks right on Newport Ave next to Ocean Beach Hotels. Please don't go here though. I need to ensure vacancy when I wish to go back to Ocean Beach!"

"It is a great place to stay. Very good location to visit a lot of places. Breakfast was great and the gift shop had great coffee. The rooms were nice and spacious and clean. The grounds were very nice to take a walk. I definitely work stay there again"

"We didn’t have any washcloth size towels in our rooms. It would be nice if they were included. Not a big deal though, we really enjoyed our stay and will likely return in the future!"

"Very cool vibe! Food was delicious, & market coffees yummy-I recommend iced honey lavender. Only negative was our fire pit on our patio only worked 1 time our entire stay. Maintenance worked on it a couple of times, but never got it back in working order during our stay."

"I loved the patio. There was a large big pool clean, the fireplace and the Jacuzzi was my favorite. We did a lot of walking and my body was so sore and it felt really good to sit in the hot tub. The staff was very accommodating and the breakfast was very good. Everyone was friendly. I loved it here. I’ll definitely stay again."
