"PROS: beautiful resort grounds fabulous view from room nice breakfast buffett room good but not what I booked CONS: booked a king bed got 2 queens housekeeping forgot to bring face cloths, coffee filters, cups, coffee, at least one on a daily basis. no ice machines for guests no refrigerators in rooms no wake up calls available floor tiles in showers, very slippery, no hand rails or mats pool steps no hand rails anywhere screaming loud children everywhere anniversary dinner booked at hotel, one dinner came with tomatoe sauce and tomatoes that were not mentioned on menu, which I have an allergy to. They insisted I pay for it even though it was sent back immediately without one bite taken. Maitre d was very rude and ruined our anniversary."

"Our stay here was honestly unforgettable. The villa we stayed in was absolutely beautiful, overlooking the town below with the most incredible mountain views every morning. Waking up to monkeys jumping on the roof and in the trees right in front of our villa was such a surreal and special experience. The villa itself was super spacious and very clean. We really appreciated that daily cleanings were offered, but also optional if you wanted more privacy. Breakfast each morning was amazing, with a few different options to choose from — I highly recommend the Pura Vida, it was our favorite. We didn’t end up taking the surfing lessons, but we watched them during breakfast and the instructors were so supportive and encouraging. It was really nice to see that kind of environment. I especially want to give a shoutout to Sophie and Gabriela. Sophie, who worked overnight, truly made our mornings and nights feel so comfortable. She was so welcoming, talkative, and gave us great recommendations — especially meaningful for my partner who was traveling for the first time. Gabriela made our breakfast every morning and helped care for our villa, and she is just such a warm and vibrant person. Even though I’m not fully fluent in Spanish, her energy and kindness came through so strongly and made us feel at home every day. We’ve only been back for a week and I already miss this place so much. I would recommend it to anyone. Just keep in mind there are stairs to get to the villas, but if you"

"Came to Costa Rica for my anniversary trip. The Hotel Gaia was a pleasant experience. Overall the staff was wonderful! Never waited for answers. They were always right there with answers. I've been in the hospitality business for 31 years so I appreciate EXCELLENT service, and that it was. The room was very nice also. The complimentary breakfast made waking up early easy. It was just a short drive away from plenty of restaurants and shopping. The hotel offered free shuttle to the nearby beach and national park which we took full advantage of. Overall, I have to say the hotel experience was wonderful!"

"Beautiful property and accommodating, friendly staff. The view from both sides is stunning, the wildlife is abundant, and it's a great middle point in Quepos, 10-15 minutes from everything including Manuel Antonio. Air conditioning came in handy during hot and humid days, and while the ziplines were closed for maintenance, the hanging bridges were challenging and fun. Highly recommend."

"This is a lovely place for two couples. The pool was an added bonus but the view was overall winner. A vehicle with high clearance and 4 wheel drive was a life saver on the ascent to the home. María was very attentive to our needs. She was instrumental to setting up our tour and our in-home chef. Our group did some in-shore fishing and our chefs were able to cook up our catch as part of a traditional Costa Rican meal. We only wish we had scheduled the chef earlier in the week so that we could have eaten the leftovers! Thank you for a lovely visit to Quepos/Manuel Antonio!!! Pura Vida! "

"We spent 2 nights in this boutique hotel. It was an interesting experience. The hotel reception was in an art gallery full of paintings. The staff who checked us in was super friendly and helpful. He gave us a tour of the hotel as he helped us carry our luggage to our room, and he answered all our questions patiently. The room was spacious with a small balcony facing the jungle. We could hear birds and monkeys in the morning. Breakfast was delicious and filling. The staff serving us was very courteous. It was certainly an enjoyable stay for us."

"We arrived late and got a warm welcome from the night staff. Our room, was downstairs, at the end of the building, huge, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was a good size and split up from the bedroom by a handy dressing area. We had a balcony, our view was small, with some garden, the jungle and next to the path down to the beach (quite steep, takes 5- 10 minutes to walk down to beach , 10 minutes+ to get back). I was initially disappointed by the view, but grew to love it. We saw squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys, at very close range - definitely follow the hotel advice, the monkeys are entertaining but naughty. We also heard and saw so many birds. It was quiet and very relaxing. The restaurant was where we got the best views of the ocean and the jungle, we could spend a long time up here, aided by a good breakfast and lovely staff. The pool areas were great. Not big pools, but they weren't packed. Lovely views. Lovely cocktails (a lot cheaper in the town of Manuel Antonio - but then you weren't lazing by the pool) and attentive staff. The whole hotel is built on a steep hill, they have a trolley-car to take you up to the restaurant, pool or reception. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Booking tours was also very easy. I would happily return to this beautiful spot. "
