The Hotel Monopol is a lovely hotel, close to Frankfurt Hbf. The area around the hotel was a little rundown with some homelessness but not unsafe. The hotel was incredibly hot. I understand the efficiency of not requiring a/c but being there when it is hot, humid and 40+ degrees, the room was miserably hot.

The schloss complex has been converted imaginatively and tastefully into a well-equipped hotel. The reception and restaurant staff were most helpful and courteous and helped to make our stay very enjoyable.

Modern, stylish hotel just steps off the main pedestrian shopping street. There’s an Aldi around the corner and it’s 10 mins walk to the old town area. The Expedia VIP treat of upgrade and free breakfast is great. Lots of hotels ask you to not have the room serviced to save the planet, but here you get 2 free drinks at the bar each day if you don’t. Also, fancy Malin & Getz shampoo etc in the bathroom.

"This was a great hotel. They allowed you to choose the frequency of room cleaning which was nice! Would have liked a recycle container in the room. Only a coffee pod machine in the room, which isn't ideal for tea (and leaks when you use it for tea), so a kettle would be preferred for this tea drinker. ..."
