  • Blue Heron Getaway

    Beautiful large house in the middle of the Oregon dunes. Across highway 101 there is fishing, crabbing, dunes, beaches, Umpqua Lighthouse and ATV rentals walking distance from the house. Rivers and lakes abound. Half hour to Coos Bay to the south, half hour to Florence to the north. Lots of covered outdoor space for dining, hanging out, or entertaining. There are some great restaurants and bars walking distance from the house. Our house is next to 101but very quite inside. 30' garage to lock up your toys. Salmon season opens June 22- September. Some the the best fishing on Oregon coast. Tuna and Bottom fishing is great all year and crab is plentiful. We have plenty of games for all ages including Pac-Man so bring the kids too. Plenty of parking in front of the house for cars, trucks, and boats. Look forward to hearing from you for staying or any other questions you have.

Great place to stay in Winchester, Oregon

Great vacation

Lots to do along the Oregon coast. Crabbing, fishing and charter boat trip. Shopping nearby. The house had lots of patio and and deck area for family fun and games. Everything was very clean and well stocked! Great place to stay! Fun for all ages.

Meeting the parents trip

It was easy communicating with the property manager. She was there when we need her and she would respond swiftly to any of our needs and questions. The property was lovely with lots of rooms. Everyone had a place to sleep which was important. We loved eating outside and the natural light was sooo lovely.Would definitely love to stay at this property again. Thanks for allowing to stay in your lovely home.

Close to the dunes

Great place to stay close to the dunes. Enough space to fit all of us & enough room for 2 trucks with trailers. Very clean space. Communication with host is very prompt.

Was a great rental property lots of room for adults, kids and grandkids. We all had a great time lots of games for the kids and the covered outdoor areas are great. Grandkids spent a lot of time in the party room as they called it. Definitely will rent again when we go to Winchester Bay.

Best onsite manager we've dealt with.

Easily accessable, location to Bay, and coast activities very good. We needed a house close enough for us to join our 44 year tradition camping trip with family and friends and it fit the bill. Beds very comfortable, cubboards stocked, ample in house activities with room galore. We enjoyed our stay very much. Laura was our on site manager, what a gem.

This house was clean, well eqipped, and so perfext for our family outting. The outside area was perfect for our family. We were able to play board games, watch movies, and enjoy the coast. ♡

Will stay again!

Highly recommend. Ample parking space, which was super important when we had many vehicles traveling from different areas, plus a boat/trailer and quads/trailer. Super easy check in and out and she was so very friendly. The house met our needs and we were pleasantly surprised with the “extras.” We will be making this a yearly family trip and will definitely be trying to book this specific place again.

I rented the house for myself and crew to stay for our two months stay in Reedsport while working on my commercial fishing boat at the shipyard. The location of the house was great. Such an easy drive to Reedsport, Florence, and Coos Bay. Dune access was easy walk or drive from the front door. Restaurants even closer. Great food and service found close by. It was just outside of the Dunes season so traffic was not bad and seating/parking easy to find. The house itself is interesting but cozy. A lot of small spaces spread out. Perfect for large groups. There were a total of 7 of us in the house and everyone was able to find their own special places to enjoy the quiet time and a few larger spaces both inside and outside to have some group time. The beds and sheets were very comfortable. The pillows could been improved and more plentiful. I like a lot of pillows. The Bathrooms have plenty of clean towels and are well kept. The upstairs bathroom is pretty tight for bigger folks but doable. The laundry room is located in a funky place but not a deal breaker. The old school video games are a fun way to pass the evenings. A blast from the past for us that still remember the days. The outside areas are great for meals and evening card games. Parking is good. Room for 4-5 full size trucks. The only down side I have to poke a little at is the kitchen is workable but lacks counter space, and could use a better outfitting of cookware and utensils. B for the price. Host A

Best beach house

Place was 100 out of 100 for so many reason. 1. House was spacious plenty of room for our family. We loved the setup so much room throw out the house for everyone to enjoy some space. There was so much thought that went to expanding the house. From the activity room to dinning and grilling areas. I personaly enjoyed the cabin living room. 2. Property Manager was awesome she was respectful, professional and very accommodating.ļ This will definitely be our home to when returning to Winchester Bay. See you next year.

Perfect for our needs

I reserved the blue Heron a few months ago for mature college friends coming from the East Coast. My wife and I stayed at Winchester Bay RV Park as we usually do. The house provided us a convenient place to meet and spread out. My friend and I felt the house was perfect for our needs and every regard. The description of the house was accurate and communication with the owner was easy and check in was a delight. Thanks to Laura! I would definitely recommend this Blue Heron to explore this part of the south Central Oregon coast. The owner of this property also gave us a great recommendation for a charterboat captain named Dave Morrow who runs a first class operation called Ocean Obsession. He is a very capable, Coast Guard trained captain with a fabulous boat and we enjoyed fishing as well as crabbing with him and his first mate, Troy.

Cute House. Convenient Location

This was a cute little house in a convenient location if you are doing activities in Winchester Bay like fishing / crabbing. It is located right across the highway from the marina. I was thinking there would be road noise being so close to the highway, but the house was actually very quiet. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms, while not large, were nicely stocked and in fine working order. The house was comfortably furnished. The oven looked new and the washer and dryer were both nice large front loaders. The kitchen appliances were all working just fine. I don't know if the plates, glasses, utensils were all new, but they seemed like it. They were not an assortment of random garage sale utensils you sometimes get stuck with in rentals. The backyard was built into two nice covered and sheltered seating/dining areas as well as an uncovered deck with a barbeque. We stayed at the house in February and were comfortable eating outside under the covered patio. There was enough parking for our truck and boat as well as a car in the driveway and garage. The local host was very friendly. We didn't need anything during our stay, but I had the impression that she would be quick to respond if we did have an issue. I could see us staying there again.
