About this property

Antica cantina Emilia

  • Antica Cantina Emilia is a farmhouse originally built in 1915 as a winery for landowners, which was lovingly renovated by Emilia and her husband in 1993, preserving its original character while adding elegant and comfortable furnishings. This historic residence is the perfect base for hikers and nature lovers who wish to explore the stunning Aspromonte National Park and the Grecanica region. In collaboration with expert partner tour operators, guided excursions and various types of trails suitable for all ages and experience levels are organised. . The farmhouse can accommodate up to 5 people, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a sofa bed in the living room. The interior of the farmhouse is equipped with all the amenities needed for a holiday focused on wellness and relaxation: hot/cold air conditioning to ensure an ideal temperature in every season, a fully equipped kitchen with appliances, a laundry room, and free Wi-Fi available in both the bedrooms and common areas. During the winter months, you can warm up in front of the large traditional fireplace, while in the summer months, you can enjoy the outdoor sun deck surrounded by greenery.

Outside, Antica Cantina Emilia is surrounded by a spacious private garden where guests can relax or help harvest fruit from the organic gardens tended by Emilia and Pino. Breakfast is included and can be enjoyed on the terrace or in the outdoor garden, enriching the experience with fresh, local produce.
In addition to being close to mountain hikes, the location offers easy access to the wonders of the coast: from the beaches of the Strait to the picturesque village of Chianalea, all the way to Scilla and the Costa Viola.

Among the trekking and hiking experiences organised with partner tour operators, you’ll find:
    - One Day Experience – Nature, Wellness, and Flavours of the Grecanica Area. Starting from the Antica Cantina Emilia Country House, you’ll head to San Pantaleone for an easy hike to the picturesque Rocca di Varva, offering spectacular views of the Grecanica Area, the Strait of Messina, and Mount Etna. Along the way, enjoy moments of mindfulness and simple yoga practices in nature. The day continues with a lunch inspired by Grecanica cuisine, prepared with local ingredients, and a stroll through the village of San Pantaleone, immersing you in culture, history, and timeless landscapes.

    - One Day Experience – The Amendolea Valley, A Walk Through Grecanica Calabria
A journey through the most authentic landscapes of Grecanica Calabria, discovering timeless villages, medieval castles, and ancient trails. The experience begins in Rosalì and leads to Pentedattilo, the Ruffo Castle in Amendolea, and—via an easy, scenic hike through the Amendolea Valley—on to Gallicianò, the village where the Greco-Calabrian language is still spoken.
