"My sister & I went to Mt. Dora for a girls trip and after looking at several decent B&Bs that were fully booked, the Lakeside Inn came up as available. I love old hotels & houses so it was right up my alley. The price was very good for a two queen (or double) room. The room was spacious, which was nice, but there were several issues that were unacceptable to me, even at a decent price. I know it’s an old hotel, but they really need to update the rooms. There needs to be more outlets and also USB Plugs. There were a lot of older people like me there and even we use USB outlets believe it or not. I use a CPAP machine and need an outlet and the only outlet on the headboard side of the room was way back behind the middle of the bed, which was a challenge to get to. The headboard itself actually fell off the wall as I tried to get things situated. Not good. Also the bathroom didn’t have any space to put any toiletries. The small sink is fine but add a couple shelves and hooks to put your stuff on for gosh sake. Not to mention there was a long curly black hair hanging off one of the towels. Just yuck. While those were all important things the worst of everything was coming back into the room and finding a big roach crawling up the back of the door in our room!! I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels in my lifetime and have never once seen a live roach running around my room! Told them at front desk and they asked if I wanted someone to come kill it. Nothing more."

"We had an excellent stay at this cottage and would absolutely come back. The location is perfect—close to great restaurants and plenty to do, yet still peaceful and relaxing. The property itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable getaway.One of the highlights for us was the large yard, which was perfect for our dogs to run and play safely. It made traveling with pets so much easier and more enjoyable.The owner was fantastic—communication was clear, prompt, and helpful from start to finish, which made the whole experience seamless.If you’re looking for a relaxing place with convenient access to activities, great dining nearby, and a welcoming atmosphere, this cottage is a great choice. Highly recommend!"

"This was an amazing property. It was extremely clean. Worked perfectly for our dog. This place has everything your need had lots of this available for use that other places do not have. (Laundry detergent, bottled water etc). The 10:00 am check in worked great for us. We will definitely stay here again when we return to the area."

"Super close to the historical district - less than 10 minute walk. Pups enjoyed their time as well. Bed comfy… full sized Frig nice but not as much cooking ware as had hoped or expected. Microwave and Keurig fabulous!! Love the area… so relaxing!"
