It felt a really odd stay. First impressions in the foyer were that they had made a lot of effort to make the place comfortable and, dare I say, quite trendy.
But our room I was disappointed with. Very spacious, yes! The beds were comfy and the shower pressure was ace. But I think for the £90 I had paid, I was a bit disappointed. The hotel really is located far out and therefore paying that much, I would have expected a bit more for my money. There were ‘patches’ of carpet covering the floor, no plug in the sink and generally a feeling of needing a make over. Didn’t like the metal wardrobes for example. I know this was an old US army base but it didn’t feel very homely. It was also really noisy at night... hearing the room next door visit the bathroom, hear another neighbour snoring all night and the REALLY heavy doors in the bedrooms shutting didn’t make for a very relaxing night sleep I’m afraid!
