Reykjavík house
My My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Reykjavík apartment. It is perfectly located next to the main shopping street in Reykjavík but just far enough back off the street where it’s quiet mid block. We found the ground floor bedroom is very comfortable to sleep in the kitchen was perfectly stocked for what we needed which is great and Iceland because you do not want to go out and eat for every meal or you will be broke. Since I was turning 50 very close to the trip my wife and Anita conspired to have a cake in the refrigerator which Anita made for me which was wonderful we enjoyed it immensely! If we end up in Reykjavík again which I’m hoping we do we would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to all of our friends who are headed that way. We actually had a Rent-A-Car for a few days and we found street parking not to be a problem at all.

Terrific Location, Good value
We absolutely loved the location of this house - it is right on the main street, just behind the shops in a hidden alley. With a bakery only feet away and so many shops nearby, it truly doesn't get better for location. The house itself is very cute - the kitchen was well appointed (although no microwave, which surprised me but not a big deal) and the living area was comfortable. The beds were good and the blankets warm. It is a little cramped in the bedroom areas, but not too much. The only downside to this place is the shower, which really was a challenge to handle as others have said. The water pressure is very high and the curtains aren't quite up to the task, so showering was not enjoyable (I actually tried to avoid it). That being said, it really was a great value for the location and size and we would highly recommend staying here.

Truly a home away from home
This accommodation was very comfortable and well equipped...we thoroughly enjoyed the main floor living quarters in particular. Wonderful access to all kinds of restaurants and shops in the neighborhood. From our viewpoint as seniors, the only drawback was the tub/shower unit - a classic, deep, soaker tub that had a rather awkward shower arrangement, presenting some difficulties, particularly for anyone with flexibility/mobility issues. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to others.

Great Place in an Awesome Location
We had a great stay! Family of four with two adult children. The coffee maker in the House is also amazing and the kitchen must be renovated. Our only note to future guests is that the shower is really difficult for taller people. 5'10" is ok, but 6'3" is too tall to stand in the bathtub for a shower. The location was so convenient and we loved the bakery next door. We had lunch one day and Breakfast the next day at Sandholt. We highly recommend this place and location and Anita was excellent to work with. We communicated seamlessly through VRBO messaging and she was quick to respond.

A hidden gem of a cottage in excellent location.
This small but well appointed cottage is literally in the heart of one of Reykjavik's nicest tourist corridors. It worked nicely for two couples traveling together. The full kitchen was well stocked and the cottage was very comfortable. Communication with the owner Anita was a breeze.

Couldn’t have asked for a better location. Seconds from shopping, restaurants and easy access out of the city for day trips. Anita was so accommodating for check-in. We had a delayed flight and she made our arrival very easy. The house was spotless, had comfortable beds and the best coffee maker ever! Great pamphlets and books on activities were provided. Anita has done a great job making this place comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommend this place. We would definitely stay again.

So much to love...
There is so much to love about this home. First is it's absolute perfect location. Tucked behind a gate right off Laugavegur, it's quiet and private with access to all the shopping, restaurants and bars Reykjavik has to offer. Grocery store and parking garage just a couple of blocks away. Tastefully decorated, very clean and fully equipped, it accommodated our party of four quite comfortably. Anita, the owner was extremely helpful, checking to see if our arrival was smooth, to see if we had any issues with anything, answered any questions we had, and was flexible on both check-in and check-out times. This made for a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this home and would go back again.

Perfect in Every Way!
This property was perfect for the (3) of us. Our check-in was smooth and Anita's communication with us before arrival was informing and she answered all our questions and provided great suggestions. We had no problem whatsoever finding the property and Anita met us shortly after we checked in. It was very easy! The location could not have been better! We could walk just about everywhere we wanted to go and parking our rental vehicle was no problem. This property is very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed! We highly recommend it! You'll not be sorry! THANK YOU SO MUCH Anita for such great hospitality! Joel, Lynn and Elizabeth

GREAT location to stay in downtown Reykjavik!
A fantastic place to stay in the heart of town! Very comfortable, warm and all the things you need to settle in vacation quickly. REK downtown has very narrow streets, so all tour pick ups (and FlyBus from the airport) go to drop off points where you walk to your destination. This house is about 2-3 easy blocks from Bus Stop 7 or 3-4 blocks from Bus stop 8. The house is super easy to find, situated in a small alley between the Polar Bear gift shop and the Sand Bakery. I love that it is located about 20m off the main road so it is right in the middle of everything yet very quiet. Upstairs is entryway, kitchen, dining room, living room and downstairs is a bedroom with a very comfortable KING bed and another bedroom with two TWIN/SINGLE beds along with the bathroom and laundry room. The water is HOT in Iceland and the monster size bathtub felt great after days of long tours. I really can't think of anyone who would not fit well into this house. Anita was AWESOME....super communication, very nice and helpful. We will always return to her house when back in Iceland!

Great place in a GREAT location!
We loved staying here! There is plenty of space, all the amenities you'd need, and it was so perfectly situated for everything we wanted to do! Anita's place is clean and cozy, and she is a great hostess. The only thing I would warn about is that the stairs are very steep and the shower is in a claw foot tub, both of which might be challenging for older or disabled folks.

What more can you ask for with this beautiful home tucked in off one of the main streets? Beds were comfortable, the place was clean, and Anita really cares about how your stay is. Bonus(the supermarket) is right down the street. So many different bars and eateries just walking distance away. This is an A+ home and I most certainly recommend staying here.

Great cottage in an amazing location!
Anita's house was cozy, clean and very centrally located. We rented a car and had no problem finding a place to park right out front by paying the meter and moving it during the weekdays. The house was perfect for our family of four. We enjoyed watching Netflix after long days of seeing the sights of Iceland and walking to some of the many great restaurants very close to home. I would highly recommend Anita's house! Anita was very helpful as well. We really appreciated that she was there to greet us and walk us through the home, giving us all of the information and instructions that we would need during our stay. We also really enjoyed the coffee machine and bakery right next door.

Perfect location, charming intro to Iceland
First visit to Iceland and not sure where to begin? Reykjavik is the the place and Laugavegur is the street. The FlyBus from Keflavik and a number 7 transfer deposits you and your bags just 1 block from Anita's PERFECTLY situated and well-appointed home. For a jet-lagged traveller, the convenience and ease of arrival was appreciated. The home is tucked off-street, 30 steps from a bakery/coffee house. It is quiet--ideal for the catnap that refreshed a tired traveler. The entry allows for easy luggage drop off, and a nice space to take off shoes and immediately get into the rhythm of a new country. The kitchen is well equipped, especially for a morning routine or easy breakfast/lunch routine. The upstairs living area is comfortable, and there is wifi and a computer available. The bedrooms are downstairs. A private master bedroom is nearly soundproof and feels immediately warm. The other bedroom houses twin beds in a a room that is divided by a built-in closet. It is ideal for two travelers (or kids) that want to have a bit of privacy for themselves. The bathroom is neat, with a claw-foot tub/shower. Be sure to mix the water and secure the curtain--the water pressure is strong and the water is HOT! A final note, and perhaps the most important one; Anita is fantastic. I had many questions before arrival, and they were all answered promptly, professionally and correctly. I had a few extra requests (early luggage drop-off, for example) and she accommodated me with a personal meeting and a few well considered tips to get me started. More, my 21 yr old daughter and I rented a camper van to tour the country, and Anita What'sApp'd me weather updates and suggestions to make our trip more enjoyable even after we had checked out of her home. Iceland is a country that must be seen to be believed. Get out there and enjoy it. And, if you need a place to sample the pleasures of Reykyavik, I strongly recommend this home.

Yard inaccessible!
When we arrived we had to crawl over (first) a 3foot pile of stones and later dirt. The yard was TOTALLY torn up! We had no access to it. One of the reasons I chose the property was that we had a four year old with us and we wanted to be able to make use of the yard. Anita explained that there was an issue but I think it should have waited! Small other annoyances ( dripping faucet-broken shades) then became more annoying. The house needs paint outside, the yard needs major maintenance and the smaller maintenance issues need to be dealt with! The house is accessible only by an alley( not a problem) but the stones and then the dirt blocked our access completely! You “haven’t lived” until you drag luggage through a mess like that!!

Dear Sheila, I found your complains unfair, beside you was threatened me with a bad review if I don't pay you compensation, you account me responsible for a third party issues. Like I explained, neighbors house has a pipe leak that must to be fixed urgently and require deep dig in the ground of my property. At present moment all is fixed and garden in good state. I also very promptly responded to all your complains and immediately contacted construction company and asked to remove stones from the alley, which they did. The only alley entrance is advantage of the property as it prevent from the noise of the main street. Iceland climate is cold, windy and rainy with average 10¨C summer temperature and with ongoing rain during your stay you wouldn't use garden anyway.

It is all about the location with this house as it is right in the heart of the main tourist street. It is behind another building, but when you walk out, you are right there in the center of everything in Reykjavik. The kitchen is well stocked and we were able to cook dinner without a problem. There is washer/dryer, but it is one machine that serves both functions so one load will take you about 3/4 hours. But it is a great feature and not everyone home we stayed at had it. The TV is an apple TV so we were able to watch Netflix one night and just relax. I initially made a mistake in the number of party when I made the reservation (4 people v. 5) so when I emailed her, she put an extra cot. I would, however, not recommend doing this. The upstairs has all the living spaces and the downstairs has two bedrooms (one with two twin beds) and another with a double bed. There is no room for another bed so she put the cot upstairs. The upstairs has some curtains, but half the windows are exposed so you are sleeping in broad daylight (if you go in the summer) and the cot was really uncomfortable. But if you are a party of 4 or less, you can't go wrong with this property.

Comfortable Home Base with Great Location
We just returned from spending a week at Anita's home. The location is great! Easy walk to everything in the city, including the main shopping and restaurant areas. We rented a car and had no trouble finding street parking very close to the home. If you are willing to walk about 10 minutes, you can even find free parking. The coffee maker was great as I felt like I was making money by not buying 5 dollar coffees each morning (Iceland is a bit on the expensive side!). The apartment is very tidy, clean, and well stocked; perfect for 4 people.

Quaint Cozy Cottage in the Heart of Historic Reykjavik!
Just spent a week at this cozy cottage nestled behind the bustling Laugavegur Street. The location is prime and the cottage is very comfortable. Everything is within walking distance: shops, cafes, bakeries, museums, Parliament Buildings, Tjornin Pond, the Harbour, and Hallgrimskirkja, the largest church in Iceland offering a panoramic view of Reykjavik. It worked out perfectly for me and my three adult children. The kitchen has been updated and modernized and perfect for making either a cup of coffee or a full meal. The living space/kitchen/dining is all one area so it made it nice for us all to hang together while the two bedrooms, bathroom and laundry room are downstairs so you can get away if you choose to. Anita, the owner, is very pleasant and amenable. Our flight arrived early, and she graciously met us at the property early so that we could settle in before the official check in time. Also, one afternoon we had a minor plumbing issue in the kitchen and she took care of it within hours. We all confirmed, we definitely would love to stay here again on our next Icelandic vacation! Thanks Anita for a great week!
