The hotel staff was very welcoming and it was a relief to us we travelers that they were multilingual. We enjoyed the free breakfast, free hot drinks, and cake hour daily. The many Icelandic tours picked us up right at the hotel for no extra charge.

An affordable place to stay in Reykjavick. Has good continental breakfast. Coffee & water available at the dining all day with free slice of cake in the late afternoon.

Friendly and helpful staff. Owner/manager very personable and connects with guests. Breakfast in the morning was perfect and cake at 5pm everyday was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

We stay on this hotel over the Christmas break and really enjoy it. Free Breakfast included and had excellent choice. Location is very close to downtown Reykjavík. Walking distance to most shopping, restaurants and tour guides pickup are within 5 to 2p minutes

Great value, great staff
This small hotel just on the outskirts of downtown is a great value in terms of price, breakfast, free wifi, free parking, and accommodations. Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay, especially because the friendly staff. Some Americans may be put off by the size and style, but, as frequent European travelers, we felt right at home. Rooms and bathrooms are on the small side, but typical in our trips. The breakfast had a good variety of food and good coffee. The evening cake and tea were fantastic. We were originally concerned about the sulfur smell in the water until we smelled it all over Reykjavik at other locations.

The hotel was perfect for us as a family. We liked the fact that it was very clean, the continental breakfast was fantastic with great choice and the complementary cake when we came home in the evening to have with a hot drink was a nice touch. The hotel was very quiet at night and the fact that we could adjust the heat in our room if we wanted to was good The staff were great and very helpful; we only had to ask if we needed anything. The parking area was very spacious and it was never a problem to park. Would definitely come back here again if we came to Reykjavik.

As a three-star hotel, it looks very poor. The curtain is down in the room, the toilet is dirty, the bathroom has a vague smell.

Very good service
Very good location and a decent hotel. Staff was very cooperative with all our requirements. Special mention about Monica, who always went out of the way to help us. Definitely worth a visit.

Terrible sewage/waste smell in the room and bathroom. Very strong terrible odor the whole time was nauseating. Also, the dirty shower curtain in the tiny shower sticks to your body the whole shower.

Hotel orkin, is on the outskirts of the city, about a twenty minute walk away. Staff are friendly and the breakfast is great. Free coffee and tea throughout the afternoon and cake in the late afternoon. We really enjoyed our stay. Very clean and quiet and reasonably priced we would definitely stay there againn

Great one-night stay!
Loved Hotel Orkin. The receptionist was very helpful, the room was sparkling clean, and the breakfast was delicious! We especially enjoyed the brown bread and the coffee. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Amazing hotel
We loved our stay at the Orkin hotel. The room was clean and perfect for our needs. Love the free cake and coffee. Great location, clean, friendly staff and it was fun to use the common areas like terrace, ping pong table or just chilling on a couch with friends.

Good location. There were 4 twins bed, two in the room and two on the roof. Breakfast was OK, Staff was mainly friendly. You can walk to the shopping street in less than 20 minutes. Safe area.

Not the most modern or well-appointed place, and the location was mediocre, but it was quiet and safe. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious and filling.

The staff was friendly, but not accommodating to our few general requests. (We needed an additional blanket and we were told only one blanket per guest/bed and we needed a fan which other hotels provide and they do not) Our room was clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was not as pictured and would have been nice to have more variety instead of the same food everyday. When booked it was listed as a 4 star, but upon arrival discovered it had changed to a 3 star and we would give it 2 stars. The lobby carpet and carpet outside our room was very dirty. No do not disturb signs, need better soap in the bathrooms, TV channels were limited and not entertaining they need to be expanded. When booking the pictures made us feel like it was worth the price we were paying and then after staying felt like it was not worth what we paid. We did ask for a one extension check out time and as with every other request we were told no. Even though the staff was friendly they are not customer oriented. Definitely not the worst place we have stayed but would not stay here again.

Adequate hotel. Large room. Coffee and cake in the afternoon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Parking. About 20 mins walk from Reykjavik centre. Recommended an excellent restaurant, close to hotel.
