The property was clean, rooms nice, spa options if you choose and nice breakfast. Views are limited, and if the winds are wrong the nearby Blue lagoon (free shuttle service for guests) has a significant sulfur smell. The ambiance and staff do everything to make your stay welcoming.
Great short stay. Staff were very helpful and super nice accommodations. Rooms were hotter than I would have liked (around 72) even with air off and windows open.
Just a quick drive from the Blue Lagoon Spa, the Northern Lights Inn is super clean with a fantastic restaurant on site, just perfect to relax either starting or ending your trip to Iceland! The staff were all kind and accommodating from the front desk to the restaurant! Would absolutely recommend as a nice place to stay at a decent price close to the Blue Lagoon!
This was a great spot, and the staff were very helpful before and during our stay. We had an early flight, but they had an early breakfast that started at 4am so it was nice to start the long day with something in our stomachs. They also arranged a taxi for us who showed up exactly on time, there were some other people who had arranged their own taxi and it still had not arrived when ours did I hope they caught their flight okay)
I would stay here again, it is an experience being in the middle of a lava field and with the Blue Lagoon about a 3-minute shuttle drive away.
Very nice location!
Really appreciated the front desk staff!
They were very helpful in helping with the right hiking trails
Loved the food and service at Maxs restaurant
Overall beautiful location and great staff
Highly recommend the spa
This was a fantastic hotel with a great breakfast. Very clean and comfortable. Only areas for improvement would be: 1) turn on the AC, the rooms were quite warm (and with the thermal vents so close, opening the windows could lead to a strong sulfur smell depending on the wind direction), 2) put in a pool or hot tub and 3) while the restaurant had an excellent breakfast, Max's dinner was a bit pretentious.
The concierge was outstanding and the room was as well appointed with high end L’Occitaine shower products. Dinner was wonderful at Max’s. Breakfast was just okay with very basic fruit, plain crepes, and a lack of variety in the offerings. The thermostat in the rooms were set to 75 degrees, far too warm for a restful sleep. The spa was acceptable however there was no hot spring or complimentary access to the Blue Lagoon next door. It was exciting to be staying on the sight of a volcanic powered geothermal plant. The Grindavik magma field is directly out of our hotel window. If the breakfast is improved and room service added along with a plunge pool or hot spring soaking this will be a 5 star stay. We appreciated the exceylocation to Reykjavík and nearby natural wonders which were breathtakingly beautiful.

Incredible staff, great food, and excellent location
The property is clean and well maintained. The front office staff is friendly and very helpful at addressing any questions. The breakfast buffet has many options available to cater to diverse tastes. My favorite was the bacon, Icelandic Skyr and oatmeal. We also liked their saunas on site and weight room. The location is very peaceful and right next to the blue lagoon. I highly recommend and would definitely return.
This is an incredible hotel if you are looking for a relaxing and quiet stay while visiting the Blue Lagoon and/or looking to see the northern lights. I would highly recommend staying here as the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
Do not sleep on Max’s restaurant. The sauna is also very much worth the upgrade/extra. Breakfast is good, but not indicative of how spectacular dinner can be.
