Historic hotels give guests an opportunity to stay in a place recognised with a national historic designation. These types of hotels in Richmond usually retain original qualities such as period features or traditional architecture within the guestrooms or public spaces.
They are quite similar. The term “historic hotel” is more common in the U.S., while you'll often hear "heritage hotel" in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to place more significance on the physical building and architecture. Heritage hotels draw their meaning mainly from the cultural value that the place has and how it inspired the surrounding community.
Yes, efforts are made to preserve the historic aspects and traditions, but interiors include modern conveniences and safety features. Tourists who book a stay can expect the amenities you'd find in a hotel such as WiFi, heating and air conditioning, and updated bathroom facilities. Booking a historic hotel in Richmond doesn't mean you're choosing a place that's rundown or uncomfortable for guests.

"I like the suite option to have a double bed and a sofa bed. Also liked that that part of the room felt a little separate and had its own tv."
