We Enjoyed our Stay at Roaring Water Bay
We are a family of 5, two boys 18 & 15 and a girl 12. We enjoyed the country side, fishing, the town of Baltimore and exploring around. The stay was very low-key, no schedule, and a great break at the middle of our two week tour of Ireland.

Marvelous and magical on Roaringwater Bay
We loved our stay, especially the quiet nights and serenity. Bring a book, explore the shore, and live peacefully in this wonderfully restored tower house! Can’t wait to go back.

Something different
The place and location were amazing. Stairs are a little tight to climb to top floor, but worth it. The shower is small and doesn't hold hot water long. Loved the wind and the rain sound, but something was loose and contributed to the noise. All of it is worth it for an amazing experience and great ambience.

A Castle With a View.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the castle. It was his first time to Ireland and had dreamed of staying in a castle. The work the owner has done to keep it authentic, yet functional and comfortable is outstanding. We loved that it was out in the wilds, with cows just beside the property, and a set of stairs that descends down to the water. We were fortunate enough to catch a sunset one night, but make no mistake - a fire in the grand fireplace is the perfect way to spend a gray and rainy evening. If you're looking for a true getaway where you can forget about the outside world, this is the perfect place to be!!!!

Wonderful stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our memorable 8-day stay in the castle. We made day trips all around County Cork and visited each of the 3 peninsulas to the West: Mizen, Sheepshead, and Bere. We were blessed and visited during an uncharacteristically warm and sunny period in mid-March. We bought plenty of firewood to keep warm in the evenings and early mornings. For those traveling with children, know that our 6 yo needed help navigating the stairs safely, particularly the stone stairs up to the top.

It’s what you dream about, only reality.
You ever wonder what it was like to have a personal castle (but with modern conveniences)? This is definitely a place for you, if you have. It’s surreal. Be mindful that the location gets very blustery in the off-peak months. But this is to be expected for Ireland weather. Thank you for the wonderful experience! We hope to be back.

Wild Atlantic Christmas Adventure
You are sitting on the edge of the Wild Atlantic, in a medieval tower, so how can your expectations not be met? We slept in comfort - on the top floor with the full force of the winds and even hail. The previous reviews were helpful though - ear plugs and eye patches were very useful. We had many fun nights playing cards in front of the fire on both the ground and top floors. Showering is a bit challenging, but doable. There’s everything you need to cook - we had an amazing lamb shank Christmas meal - but the lime scaling needs to be monitored if there are high winds. Definitely an adventure. Well worth every minute.

Fantastic views
The property was a lot warmer than we expected The room at the top however is impossible to sleep in if there is a strong wind as the glass is not particularly well fitted and there is a constant noise as if there is a swarm of bees in the room Would I return , in all honesty No
