Mont-Aux-Sources is the highest area of the Drakensburg Mountains in South Africa. The name means Dragons Mountain. The views are unbelievable.
This picture is from the top of a section called the Amphitheater which is over 5 km in length and is a vertical wall of 300 meters. It has a flat plateau of that is about 3,050 meters high. It is regarded as one of the most impressive cliff faces on earth.
This area is reached by an amazing hike that includes a long, scary chain ladder that is a challenge to all hikers and too much for many.
There is also the incredible view of Tugela Falls, the second highest waterfall in the world, that falls about 3000 metres in five cascades.
Can you see the peak called 'Devils Tooth'? This peak and area appear twice in the Marvel Comic movie 'Black Panther'. Both times they return to Wakanda you see 'Devils Tooth' (12 & 134 minutes into the movie).
The area is also the source of the Tugela River and two tributaries of the Orange River, two important rivers in SA.
